I’m just about done with the Eagles and their “Go Green!” BS anyway. This is most definitely going to be my last straw with the NFL.
Say WHAT? I can’t stand Olberhead...I was being sarcastic.
Just another reason I do not watch until the clock hits 7:30 central time...
The contract with the NFL surely requires that NBC not bring disrepute on the league, which means they can require that NBC not use an on-air personality implicated in, say dogfights. In addition, I’m sure that Olberdork’s contract with NBC has similar escape clauses. Basically, if the league felt that Obie was embarassing them, he’s gone.
My bad... totally misread you post. Sorry about that.
Haven’t watched NFL in years. College football is 1,000 times better.
Rush wasn't employed by the NFL. He was employed by ESPN. And he was already hired, and has what is known as a contract.
MSNBC seems to have become a refuge for psychotics lately.
Not to mention, even if there's no contractual option technically open to them, they can certainly let it be known that not getting rid of an embarrassment like Olberman will be looked on pretty negatively when the TV contract is up for renewal.
He doesn’t host SNF he hosts Football Night in America their wrap up show inbetween the end of the afternoon games and the start of the SNF game, and the halftime show whatever they call that. Both are NBC properties, while the NFL could make a stink I don’t think they’ve ever done so before.
No, NBC pays the league a lot of money to get to broadcast the games, if you follow the money the NFL is the employee.
And while they’re at it, can they please ditch that stupid Faith Hill song they use to introduce the game.
Dear Mr. Goodell,
I am writing you regarding NBC's use of Keith Olbermann to broadcast NFL games. I have shared my concerns with NBC on several occasions, but my emails have fallen on deaf ears. I therefore ask you, since you are now concerned with the political positions of those associated with the NFL, to look into the disgusting and over the top hate speech that emanates from NBC broadcaster Keith Olbermann. He regularly makes personal attacks on people who have conservative beliefs, and denigrates those beliefs. He is a one man propaganda machine for the Obama administration, as he was previously a harsh critic of the Bush Administration. He actively worked to undermine America in the war on terror, and to attack our troops as they were fighting it. It is certainly legal for a news/opinion outlet like MSNBC to hire someone like Olbermann (although his ratings indicate that it is not wise) but he has no place anywhere near an NFL game. NFL games should be a refuge from the partisan and bitter politics of a hack like Olbermann.
I have told NBC that I will not watch the television when Olbermann is on. That means I switch to other channels during the Sunday Night pregame and at halftime. That cannot be good for ratings and the NFL. Now, I am considering whether I can give any support to NBC whatsoever while they continue to use a man who hates me and my values to broadcast their football games. I am requesting that you work with NBC to remove Mr. Olbermann from the booth. If this does not happen, in spite of being a fan of the NFL for 41 of my 49 years, I will cease watching any NFL games on NBC period. The next step after that would be to stop watching the NFL, and find a sport that values America, American values and the American people, 70 percent of whom identify themselves as conservative or right of center.
Very truly yours,
Defiant
I can’t stand the smarmy bastard.
Good point. Do conservatives incessantly whine and complain and threaten boycotts because Keith Olberman is inserted into Sunday Night Football to spout pro-Obama nonsense? No, we don’t. We act civil and polite.
We never get this same civility in return, now do we? No sirreee! No where.
The left is intolerant. And the left is bigoted, in the truest meaning of the word.
I wish there would be a fall out but we conservatives are too polite, too lazy or just too complacent to make a ruckus. Besides, we like civilization. The lefties are leeches at heart but we’re not.
Maybe if we all stopped watching the NFL for three or four weeks and REFUSED to buy any merchandise or tickets, they may feel the pinch. Chances are they wouldn’t.
Your email address got bounced back.
I don’t think the NFL obeys NBC. Surely it’s the other way around.
Just figured out why: you misspelled Goodell.
