Senate Finance Committee members have been notified that the committee's health reform bill was filed today. S. 1796 weighs in at 1,502 pages, according to a Senate Republican leadership source. It's still not up yet on the Finance Committee website or Thomas.gov. We'll post a link as soon as we get one.

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: boondoggle; deficit; obamacare; option; public; socializedmedicine; waste
1,502 pages. I thought the Dems were into saving trees.

They’re into the illusion of caring.

If you can fake sincerity, you’ve got it made.

I hope we have a couple of lawyers out there to decipher this one.

I spent hours trying to make sense of the last one, and I am in NO mood to do it again.

Besides, by the time they butcher it, it wont even look like it does not.

I am so sick and tired of this crap..really. They are going to do whatever they please. If only we could think of a way to get back at them before the election, which is a year away.

I cant believe they are gonna shove this down our throats. Where is a good bolt of lightning to strike that place with them all in it?

Well, millions of us ARE saying no, but they are obviously deaf up there.

I just dont understand how they can just do as they please...and nobody seems to be able to stop them.

Most of us on the forums, are just ordinary people, with the power of only one vote. By the time we get to use that vote, this thing will be voted in and we wont be able to stop it. Once its in, in any form..they can change it however they wish...plus nobody will then get rid of it, even if we got someone in there that doesnt approve of it.

I have never been so sorry to be an american. Right now, this is like some foreign country to me. I find myself wishing for someplace else to live. We should all buy some deserted island.

We are all sick of this bullsh$t - how can it be stopped? They have to have a quorum for a floor vote - get the entire GOP to walk out. I know of no other way to stop it.

Maybe one of the senators who is on our side can just simply pull the d@## fire alarm so that the building can be evacuated. Then pull it again when the bill comes up for discussion. Just keep doing it until the message is driven home. NO BILL !!!!
Or someone can just bring a stinking pile of dog$#!? in a paper bag a then open it up, thus causing the room to clear once more again.
Or a live skunk.... or plant a Queen bee (or its artificial scent) to cause the rest of the swarm to ......

I like the fire alarm idea.

We are so screwed and not many ways to stop it.

Call all Republican members. if they don’t show up to work, ALL of them, then it goes NO WHERE. No opposing members no Quorum, no Quorum, NO VOTE.

If even ONE republican shows up, that won’t work. If ZERO show up, its game over, Dems can’t do anything.

The senate can write its own stuff, it just has to get approved by the house, but they will have to negotiate to a single bill that BOTH houses sign off on. Only them can it become law.

Pulling a fire alarm when there is no fire is a crime. Not a good idea. Better idea, ALL REPUBLICANS STAY HOME. ALL of them.

If no opposition shows up there is NO QUORUM! No Quorum no vote!
