Last Tuesday there was yet another hearing for Rifqa Bary, the girl who converted from Islam to Christianity and fled to Florida from her family in Ohio after saying that her father threatened her life.
It was agreed that Ohio has jurisdiction in her case. That means Rifqa is ultimately to be returned to Ohio, but not so fast: the Florida court maintains emergency jurisdiction. And Florida Judge Daniel Dawson is firm: Rifqa will not be returned to Ohio until the family’s immigration status is cleared up.
That could take awhile. On Wednesday at my Web site AtlasShrugs.com, I broke the story of the immigration papers of Rifqa’s father, Mohamed Bary, running exclusive documentation exposing his immigration status. He is in the United States illegally, and he has committed perjury to stay here.

Perhaps the immigration problem will take awhile to unravel and by the time it is settled, Rifqa will be 18. May God cover her with His mighty shield.

That qualifies him to get a visa and work permit, doesn’t it?
I read that the parents came here 20 years ago, which means that Rifqa is a US citizen having been born here. Deport the parents, and appoint Rifqa a guardian until she is 18. If it is good enough for illegals from Mexico to do the anchor baby thing, then it should be good enough for this girl from Sri Lanka. I pray for her as well. This whole story sickens me - our system is seriously compromised on all levels.
The parents want to honor kill murder her, but Pamela Geller and my humble self believes they won't be able to produce the proper immigration papers to take Rifqa back to Ohio where she can be more easily killed; ergo, there is a chance for Rifqa not to be murdered.
I certainly hope it works out that way.

Just imagine what it would be like if it was the other way around — a Christian girl converting to Islam while the parents are outraged.
The WH would probably be involved together with a number of congressmen and the parents would be in custody to prevent them from committing “Christian honor killing”.

Heavenly Father, please watch over this little lamb of Yours and keep her safe.
Father God, please also resolve the matter of Mr. Bary’s status as an immigrant to the USA according to Your sovereign will.
We entrust Rifqa to Your mercy and to Your care. Send Your angels to protect her and to comfort her. Give her peace that passes understanding. May she know You more and may she be known by You more through this.
We thank You for causing all things to work for her good. We ask that Your light shine throughout this situation to dispel all darkness and to expose anything hidden that You want revealed.
We hold up before You all others who are in similar situations and ask You to work on their behalf too.
We pray in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
And we’re supposed to believe that he won’t hurt Riqfa. Yeah, right.
