We live in a farcical habitat where the needs of the left outweigh the earnings of everyone else.

I volunteered in ‘04 in Jacksonville, FL for Bush-Cheney, and my spot was the biggest polling office in Duval County. I remember seeing Corrine Brown showing up handing out flyers titled “Corrine’s Picks” trying to tell people how to vote and she very distinctly got closer than the 100 feet allowed by law for campaigning. She walked the line right up to the door of the building where voters had to enter. I obviously made the appropriate people aware of what she was doing.

Don't miss the interesting trick that's not mentioned here. Sure, sure, one can skirt campaign contribution limits, which admittedly, can be an advantage in a heavy challenge in a district. But any candidate for federal office can also be paid, by the campaign, a salary equivalent to the federal office they are seeking.

She gets to personally pocket more than a hundred thousand dollars for /just/ being a candidate.

Yup, nothing quite so corrupt as a government official. The difference between a Republican and a Democrat is that the Republicans are usually embarrassed by it, while the Democrats try to out do each other.
