Let me first apologize to Rush Limbaugh.
Last week in explaining why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to put an end to Limbaugh's latest publicity stunt, I attributed racially insensitive quotes to Limbaugh that I read in two Missouri newspapers, saw on CNN and confirmed through a Google search. Prior to posting the article, I never found a denial of these quotes by Limbaugh, and had no reason to believe those statements were not true.
It was unfair to Limbaugh. And I regret that. I've commented on some of his earlier controversies. I've long been an admirer of his broadcasting skills.
For the most part, I've never taken his political commentary all that seriously. There are virtually no modern-day political figures that I take seriously. Politics and politicians are too dishonest and too controlled by financial influences for my taste. I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted.
I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda. An examination of my work at FOXSports.com, the Kansas City Star and/or any of the places I've worked previously would reveal a free-thinking, hardcore independent.
I dislike and distrust everybody equally.

he looks very smart..
I know — we’re all so busy we just scan things, and it did appear as if those were MY words. :-/
Other than the fact that the entire Journalistic Enterprise in the United States is pretty much a left-leaning con game.
To Whitlock's contempt for politicians, perhaps he will now add journalists, as more and more Americans are finding a sad necessity.

Are you speculating or do you know this to be true?
Whitlock goes on the offensive (”white race hustler”)later in his “apology”. It doesn't sound to me like he is the least bit scared of Rush's lawyers.
This is just this guy’s roundabout way of saying “Fake, but accurate.” What a buffoon.
Whitlock is like any other liberal, when they screach about anti-racism what they propigate is an anti-white line and nothing more. What a POS article written by a “racist.”
BWWWWWWHAAAA!!!
Stand up Chuck, take a bow!!! LOL
Braveman has a genuine & legit shot at writing disclaimers, fellas!! Another hereto unknown talent from this guy, who, never fails to amaze. LOL!!
{~hey, pal? K's in Anne Arbor w/ her pa for the MI-PASt game. won't be back 'til Sunday, *party-time*!! grab some jams & this old goat'll show ya how to play foosball *&* drink JB. bring that other goon with, if he/you dare LOL}
Your ‘apology’ was forced due to legal reasons, Whitlock. There is not one ounce of sincerity or honesty in it.
It is as pretentious and fake as you are. I hope Rush busts your balls.
LMAO!!

Yea, like that. LOL
Ping to post 108. BraveMan on a roll!
Yes, they do. My bad.
When he sticks to sports, Whitlock is a good sports writer. I have actually enjoyed many of his columns.
When he veers off into politics and race, he’s a confused buffoon. Clearly.
I am glad he had the decency to acknowledge that the Limbaugh quotes he had sloppily cited in a previous column were indeed fake. It was, however, crass of Whitlock to then attempt to make his sloppiness “go away” by drawing on his own ignorance in a further attempt to smear Limbaugh through false comparisons. The guy has never listened to Rush.
FRegards,

IMO, Savage is a jerk. Rush's problem started when he didn't defend himself, not when he didn't defend Savage. I've often heard Rush talk about there being two schools of thought about reacting to attacks -- one being that you do nothing, the other that you face the attacks head on.
I've thought for a long time that the days of doing nothing (the idea being that the lies will die a quick death if you don't respond to them) have long been over. Reagan was good at ignoring attacks, and he was president at a time when ignoring them worked. Plus he had the bully pulpit.
I think Rush's deal with the NFL was destroyed in part because he did nothing when these lies first appeared. So they were just out there, waiting to come back to life at the appropriate time. And now all these reporters can say in their own defense, "But Rush never denied saying those things."
Great idea, stephen!!
Well Braveman?
Yet another ball in your court, bucko.
What'cha gonna do?
You've an awful lot of balls in your court now, they're really piling up. LOL!!
lol

Well stephen, GO MAN!!
