Whitlock's apology to Limbaugh: Mistakes undermined message
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/1523843.html# ^ | Thu, Oct. 22, 2009 | JASON WHITLOCK

Posted on 10/22/2009 11:22:55 PM PDT by Freedom2specul8

Let me first apologize to Rush Limbaugh.

Last week in explaining why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to put an end to Limbaugh's latest publicity stunt, I attributed racially insensitive quotes to Limbaugh that I read in two Missouri newspapers, saw on CNN and confirmed through a Google search. Prior to posting the article, I never found a denial of these quotes by Limbaugh, and had no reason to believe those statements were not true.

It was unfair to Limbaugh. And I regret that. I've commented on some of his earlier controversies. I've long been an admirer of his broadcasting skills.

For the most part, I've never taken his political commentary all that seriously. There are virtually no modern-day political figures that I take seriously. Politics and politicians are too dishonest and too controlled by financial influences for my taste. I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted.

I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda. An examination of my work at FOXSports.com, the Kansas City Star and/or any of the places I've worked previously would reveal a free-thinking, hardcore independent.

I dislike and distrust everybody equally.

Translation: I am a prejudiced person, who has never examined my prejudices.

saw on CNN

That's enough right there to tell him it wasn't true.

Sorry. I meant that Whitlock “set things straight” about the fake Limbaugh quotes.

Other than that, yeah, Whitlock is what he is - - a sports-writing race hustler. He’s especially funny when he jumps to the aid of any black college football coach who gets fired for doing little more than losing. The coach wasn’t fired for losing, of course - - he was fired because of racism. “They” never fire white coaches for losing. Check out his stories about Tyrone Willingham.

Damning Rush with faint praise will get this jerk nowhere. "I was not fair in my criticism with Rush, the race hustler!" That is a nice blend to mix. I have listened to Limbaugh since 1991 and have never heard him disparage a race in anything he has said. He doesn't cut slack to Jackson, Farakan, or Sharpton who are race pimps. He has balls enough to tell it like it is. He also gives hell to Bill Clinton (our first black president) who is not black. He gives hell to anyone who is a sniveling liberal and then gives you the reasons why he feels the way he feel,.....and it is never, ever because a person is white, black, pink, purple, brown, or green. I have heard him praise many black people, but those remarks never seem to be at issue, unless he is speaking highly of Justice Clarence Thomas. Then because Thomas thinks for himself rather than derive his views from the politically correct NAACP, black people refer to Thomas as an Uncle Tom rather than point to him respectfully and say to their kids, "See, here is a great man, and you can be successful like him!"

Rush, sue the hell out of this jerk. He knows you have him by the short and curlies.

Savage, a.k.a. Michael Weiner, is small fry. I can’t stand his whining and bloated self importance.
When Rush was under investigation good ole’ Savage piled on.
Weiner bashes all fellow conservative talkers.

Rush is.

So this guy “never voted” eh?

When The Zero was running based on only one qualification - being the first black man elected president - and this unique middle-aged black guy was “not voting” and didn’t care about politics in Nov 2008?

He must have been the only black eligible voter out there who “didn’t care” then.

The Kansas City Star has a stable of columnists notable for their bigotry and deceit including: Mary Sanchez, Lewis Diuguid, and Barbara Shelly.

What a dumb prick. Whitlock is clearly so jealous of Rush’s popularity he can’t see straight. And the bit about him being apolitical is just a load.

No Thanks Omaha, Kansas City Star That's what I are.

I couldn't resist When I read the so called appology earlier on line and saw "Kansas City Star" I thought of Roger Miller and his song.

The so called appology by the sports columinist whitlock is one of the lamest I have ever read.
Putting Rush in with Jessie & Al is the dumbest thing I have ever read. whitlock: (not capped because you are a no cap idiot)how many times has Rush pulled a Twanda Brawley? held a company hostage for $$.

***I'd write the exact same column if Sharpton and Jackson tried to buy a piece of the Chicago Bears.***

I googled for his protest article on “Fergie” owning the Dolphins but couldn't find one?

Since each and every one of these "sources" lied, is this not evidence of a great left wing conspiracy?

Then go live in a cave somewhere. Don't spew your hatred and race-baiting propaganda on the pages of a newspaper. Jason, you falsely accuse Rush, but your unfounded accusations do more to accuse you.

"...I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted. I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda..."

Of all political entities, I find the people with this outlook the most reprehensible, especially someone who makes their living by commentary.

At least with the moonbats and libtards, they will take a stand and at least put themselves on the line, which is about the only thing I can say for them. But it is a step up from this cowardly hypocrite.

I detest the "prized and sought after independents". I personally think they are either cowardly hypocrites like this man, or too stupid to take a stand on anything and will hire their vote out to the political cause with the most subsidized peanuts to offer.
