JERUSALEM – Suicide bombings are OK in Tel Aviv, Israel, but not in Saudi Arabia, declared a Saudi professor speaking on Arab satellite television. "Someone who blows himself up amidst the enemy is different from someone who blows himself up in a safe place. Blowing oneself up in Tel Aviv is not like blowing oneself up in Riyadh," stated Saudi University professor Salman Al-Abdali on Iqra TV, an Arab educational television network. "Explosive belts are legitimate when they are used against colonialist aggressors," added Al-Abdali. "Let me reiterate: colonialist aggressors, who cross continents and oceans, in order to invade the lands of the Muslims."

What about the approximately 1,000,000 Sephardic Jews who had to run for their lives after 1948 from Muslim lands, sometimes crossing vast desserts on foot to reach Israel. Were they “colonialist aggressors,” too?
Of course— the only people who don’t count as colonialists are Muslims, blacks (except for black conservatives or Christians), and anyone who was ever potentially disadvantaged by whitey.
But all Jews have ancestors who were blatantly disadvantaged, both by “whitey” and the moose limbs. We’re talking close to two thousand years of oppression, pogroms, mass expulsions, occasional enslavement... Besides, some of my next door neighbors are not only Jewish, but also either black, as dark as any Arab, or else Asiatic. So how are we now colonial aggressors, even by the ridiculous criteria that left wing-nuts use?
Nobody said it had to make sense— when has liberalism been anything but arbitrary idiocy?
It’s starting to look like a deliberate retreat from logic and common sense, like anti-rationality, rather than irrationality.
