France's leading high society magazine has today produced a devastating portrait of Carla Bruni as the country's new Marie Antoinette. Point de Vue presents the 41-year-old First Lady as a daffy multi-millionaire socialite who does very little real work, and who is completely out of touch with ordinary people. The attack by the Paris weekly, which specialises in covering the lives of aristocrats and European royalty, will come as a huge blow to President Nicolas Sarkozy as he tries to play down his monarchichal style.

I should have specified that I was referring to Michelle, not Carla Bruni.
It also should have been “an aristocrat”, not “and aristocrat.”
Funny how the women that leftists admire very, very seldom have done anything themselves.
Of course, Michelle is an exception. After all she .....well, she....there was that free job where she didn’t do anything, and then she planted some stuff.....and said some very stupid things....and.....and...there’s a pony in here somewhere.

I have always thought Carla Bruni was an empty-headed, husband-stealing, slut model, but if the French media is trashing her, she’s my new hero.

As for Carla, I confess I’d rather gaze at her from a distance than be married to her. Sarkozy has a lot of guts to take her on.
