To: Miss Marple; Alas Babylon!
I was very pleased to note on another thread that FReepers were condemning Cao individually, not Republicans collectively.

This is an encouraging sign to me.

I am glad to see that the GOP as a whole isn’t being condemned. If you look at Cao’s record, it’s obvious he is under heavy constituent pressure. He does represent William Jefferson’s old district.

For those who say that there is no difference between the parties, I would remind you that when we held the majority we didn’t produce legislation like this. The Cap and Trade bill that passed the House last summer is just as bad. I read that entire bill, and when people find out what is in it there is going to be anger like the democrats imagine.

Additionally, the Bush tax cuts expire next year. How in the world will democrats be able to spin that Americans will be getting to keep less of their money? That is a not something that can be denied; people will see their paychecks shrink.

We need to stick together, remain calm, and talk about what’s in these bills at every opportunity. And we need ADS!
