This is only the 1st touch down in a LOOOOnnng game.
It still has to pass the Senate, then the two bills have to be reconciled then pass both Houses again then
pass the Courts.
The Demcorats have to stay in control of Congress in 2010, and the White House in 2012, to avoid having the GOP repeal this.
This is a long way from done.
From your mouth to God’s ears!
I’m a little jaded and depressed about it, Johnnie.
Remember the McCain-Feingold Act? We thought and hoped the same all the way up through SCOTUS. We lost each round.
Hope springs eternal, however, and you are right to remind us all.
I just hope I don’t lose my Tricare Prime. Seems like us military retireees are the last group the dems ever consider.
Bad laws NEVER get repealed.
And we can't trust this Supreme Court (McCain-Feingold).
There may be good news in this, IF the overwhelming congratulations on getting health Care Change passed on Saturday overwhelms the election results from Tuesday. Maybe the Dems will forget the complete turnaround in actual people voting from last year to this year. So, next November could be even more of a surprise.
As a Free Republic fund-raiser, how about if we raffle off a chance to put a garbage can on James Carville's head after the results are announced in November 2010?
Agreed, and once the analysis and evaluation of this 2000 page bill gets underway there will be major questions to ask Democrats who never read the bill but voted for it.
Also, the Leftards have to worry about a Second American Revolution breaking out and hanging them from the lamp posts.
All of us at Free Republic know that patience on our side of the ideological divide has just about ended.
We’ll give the electoral process one more chance to reset the Constitutional norms in this country in the fall of 2010, but if that doesn’t work, I expect strikes, mass civil disobedience, riots and finally, armed resistance.
