Obama to Warn Asia Against Relying on U.S. Consumers

President Barack Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama hold a press conference at the prime minister's official residence in Tokyo on Friday.

TOKYO -- President Barack Obama has come halfway around the world to personally deliver the message to East Asia that the global economy can no longer count on the U.S. consumer to keep it afloat.

In what White House aides call a "major address" here on Friday, and in planned comments in Singapore and China next week, Mr. Obama will press his push to "rebalance" the world's economy, urging China to adjust its economic policy to spur domestic consumption as the U.S. encourages less consumption, more savings and more exports. "The president will continue to be clear that one of the lessons of the economic crisis is that growth driven by U.S. consumers is not sustainable in the 21st century," said Ben Rhodes, a senior official in the White House National Security Council and Mr. Obama's lead foreign policy speech writer.

That message will be repeated at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations meeting in Singapore this weekend, as well as in China and again in South Korea. Mr. Obama will also speak of the benefits of a more export-driven economy to the moribund U.S. job market.

Officials did not indicate the president is bringing major concessions to move the U.S.-South Korean Free Trade Agreement.

He thinks we are down for the count. We are actually counting him down and out.

Along the same lines: “If China has a brain fart and attacks anyone of you, don’t count on the American military to stand with you. If you don’t like that idea, go to Russia.”

The Obama Presidency is the most bizarrely unacceptable development in the governance of this country since its inception. Everything Obama says has a subtext and a strangely unreconciled inner contradiction. In this particular statement, there’s so much going on, I hardly know where to start. He’s delivering a hidden-agenda message here (especially to China, who’s buying our debt)not to count on something that has long sinced ceased existing if it ever did——his plans for subverting the American economy and putting America in its place are thereby masked by fine-sounding ,”responsible” rhetoric designed to play well to the American people, while communicating something very different to the ears of the rest of the world. THey can only cheer, silently of course, that they have an ally in Obama. They will be sorely disappointed when it doesn’t happen the way Obama is promising.

That treasonous POS!!! There won’t be any analysis of this speech on the state-run media tonight. He just told the world that his war against the US economy is almost won.

Before Obama became President he said “it is time to put away childish things” and now he has taken away the money and redistributed it via public health care.

Obama seeks to do permanent damage to The US because he hates America.

Bingo!

“President Barack Obama has come halfway around the world to personally deliver the message to East Asia that the global economy can no longer count on the U.S. consumer to keep it afloat.”

It’s plain to see what Obama’s priority is.

“And furthermore, the only market for your junk will be My Government, and then only after you pay the appropriate fees to various slush funds and then still more to pass My Tzar’s stringent regulatory schemes.

“Oh and yes, you Chinese folks out there here’s a shout out! Those tooth brushes and tampons you make are now medical devices and will be taxed appropriately. See ya!”

I’m all for fixing our trade balance, increasing exports, a higher savings rate, and bringing jobs to the U.S.

Somehow I don’t think think this is quite what Obama has in mind, despite what he claims. I have a feeling that the lower consumption part is the only one going to come true.

The big question is if he does this, how are the going to fund the deficit spending if the Chinese have fewer dollars to recycle?

He cares about every other country, but hates ours. It seems that if he has his way and we were to go down, he would dance in the streets and pass out candy. He truly is the enemy from within.

He's giving the world a heads up on where he plans on taking our country.
He's not hiding anything and the media is sitting on their hands with their thumbs pointed up.

Finally, Obama’s taking Volker’s advice! Volker said we need to stop baseing our economy on the consumer. He knows a thing or two about economics.

President Barack Obama has come halfway around the world to personally deliver the message to East Asia that the global economy can no longer count on the U.S. consumer to keep it afloat.

Not that a personally delivered message was needed, he just HAD to get out of the house for a couple of days. (and the weather overseas was better for golf)

Yep, every step is calculated to do just that.

Our task is to expose and remove him & them. As soon as possible.

(Obama is taking us down for the count by design!) Now this is something I agree with. Zero is intentionally taking the United States down the tube.
