Brian Kopp is a longtime Freeper and I trust him. He does his research, and he’s been looking into pandemic stuff for a long time. Mike Adams is a hustler and I cannot stand Mercola, he’s another self-promoter and for a long time - at least up until recently - he was saying that swine flu aka H1N1 was nothing but a big gov/big pharma “hype”. In my opnion Mercola is an a**hole. I’ve read enough of his stuff. And I’m an herbalist and have clients and make my own formulas so I’m not against natural therapies at all. I just do not like lying self-promoting hucksters.

Mercola's site does look a little like World Net Daily's, however not with those annoying buried links, but he self promotes I would think because he no longer sees patients; the Web IS his office. My nutritionist that I pay ten bucks to see gives me a great deal of information that is all holistic, and he said he is behind Dr. Mercola's information although he thought his products were too high in price, but then sold me $200 worth of HIS products instead.:) I receive a few products from Mercola that I've used on and off for quite some time. They all benefit me; you have to do your homework as to what helps. Mercola gives a great deal of free info on his site as well, and continually touts eating good clean (organic if possible) veges and some fruit, purified water, etc.

Do you think Big Pharma does its job well and do you think Swine Flu is a pandemic? Some of us have been sick over at our house and have taken care of it through natural means. Frankincense and Myrrh might be two of the therapeutic essential oils that we've used that Dr. Kopp would give consideration to as to being beneficial (considering his strong faith). He's already received the "gold" part through his practice (what a *beautiful* article -- my DH writes articles of this nature as well, wonderfully Catholic and, yes, a bit sappy -- whenever his pen hits paper.)

Other articles by Dr. Kopp.

P.S. Calling Dr. Mercola an a**hole on a public forum probably wouldn't do much for your business as an herbalist if you were using your real name.

I know my words were a bit harsh; I just have this loathing of hucksters and self-promoters; ESPECIALLY when they lie.

People were sending me Mercola articles for months in which he claimed that the flu pandemic was a “hype” or “hoax” etc. Maybe he’s changed his tune now.

My herbal business is very small - I deal with clients one at a time, usually via email and phone as I live in a remote location. It is solely word of mouth, I actually “make” very little money as I charge nothing for my extensive consultations, and charge a small percentage above wholesale for my formulas; at most I pay for all the herbs and oils I purchase. I do it as a service to God and humanity.

I have been studying in depth pandemic stuff since at least 2005, when I first heard about H5N1, and spend many hours a week - too many - reading every scrap I can, to learn more, learn best how to treat it, and so on.

Another factor of my dislike of Mercola is the prices he charges. I have nothing against people earning a living and making a profit. But I know for a fact that he charges a very high price for what he sells; I make my own tinctures and herb formulas and the price I pay - albeit wholesale - is more than what a large scale producer will pay. And he’s selling directly to the public, which makes his profit more than if he was marketing in stores.

I hold big pharma in absolute abhorrance, and also consider that this pandemic may very well become at least as bad as the 1918 one. Depending on what’s happened in Ukraine, the WHO and CDC are hiding the sequences, it’s obvious there have been changes in teh virus, just not “big” ones (according to them!) but “small” changes can have huge effects in transmissibility and virulence, as well as Tamiflu resistence.

I got what is most likely swine flu at the end of October - of course, no test, but in consultation with another herbalist who also understands genetics, was certain I had it. I treated it solely with herbs and essential oils. I have asthma, and I think without the herbs etc it would have been much worse. I gained valuable experience in learning how to treat it. Of course, if it gets more virulent avoiding infection will be even more imperative.

Even the best natural methods in the world cannot cure everything; the world is meant to be a place of learning, and some miseries are built in.

Ironically, I commented about Boswellia Sacra on this thread at FluTrackers back in July.
