Gitmo North

War On Terror: Sen. Dick Durbin calls a plan to transfer 100 Guantanamo detainees to northwest Illinois "a dream come true." It would paint a bull's-eye on America's heartland in time for the 2012 Iowa caucuses.

It seems the question of where to put the Guantanamo detainees is being settled as we speak, with liberal Democrats in the very blue state of Illinois welcoming them with open arms and outstretched hands for the federal dollars that will come with them.

Federal officials last Friday inspected the Thomson Correctional Center in Thomson, Ill., a town of 500 on the Iowa border, with the thought of transferring as many as 100 Gitmo inmates there. The prison, built to house 1,600 prisoners, now holds around 200, and has fallen victim to state budget problems.

At press conferences held in Chicago, Moline and Rockford, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, who took over from the disgraced Rod Blagojevich, and Illinois' senior U.S. senator, Dick Durbin, stumped for the plan, calling it "a dream come true." We call it a nightmare on Main Street.

They argued a revived Thomson sold to the feds as a supermax facility could bring in $1 billion in development and up to 3,000 jobs in that economically strapped part of the state. GOP members of the Illinois congressional delegation see it differently.

Turbin thinks it’s a dream come true because he spends all his time in DC.

The war in Iraq brought terrorists from all over the Middle East to fight us in Bagdad. Could this really be a brilliant strategy to bring terrorists from all over America to fight us in the Midwest?

One has to wonder when Little Dickie Turban is going to advocate support for a growth industry of housing and trying terrorists. After all, the most important thing is jobs for unemployed Illinoisans.

The basic argument being advanced by the Leftwingtards is that this prison (or one like it) is sufficient to keep the prisoners inside and away from the people living in the area.

That, of course, is total nonsense. Those prisoners have "friends" on the outside all over the country. They will visit the community; harass the local population, and probably end up terrorizing any number of people.

The 9/11 AlQaida ground support team in the DC area (flights out of Dulles) lived down the street ~ they took their 60 taxicabs with them as they fled the metropolitan area for parts unknown.

They could be back visiting that little town in Illinois so fast it'd make your head swim.

No, we have to keep these pukes OFFSHORE in an area where there are no visitors other than those there as guests of the military. Or, we have to execute them and dump their parts in the ocean.

If Hassan could infiltrate our military how many more Hassan types have already infiltrated our prison system and are on the inside as well?

The Islamofascists roaming around free are the ones to worry about. This prison will give them a focal point and the people of Illinois will rue the day Dick Durbin and his running dog lackeys walked the Earth.

Forgeddaboudit what was I thinking, the Chicago Dick’s (Daley and Durbin) gangstas will probably make quick work of all those pesky jihadies. “We don’t know what happened, they all committed suicide after they fell up the stairs a few times”

Good question. We know that Illinois government is totally corrupt, we know that Chicago is the home of the Nation of Islam. How many corrupt or Islamist guards could make it on to the staff of this prison?

“Turbin thinks it’s a dream come true “.

Well, I certainly think it's a dream, let's see:

$1 billion spent there on 100 terrorists. That is a real dream come true - $10 million per prisoner. Wonderful. Wonderful.

And then, I understand they will allowed visitors.

Just think, thousands of important terrorists visiting this 100 terrorists.

And while they are arriving, they will have a great view of the Sears tower, currently the tallest building in America, and one that may have been the target of flight 93, on 9-11.

And such a huge city, they can disappear and gather the ‘stuff’, to blow it up, and then just think, after the tower comes down, all the billions of dollars of government money and charity, flowing into this downtrodden district.

Such a wonderful dream.

facility could bring in $1 billion in development and up to 3,000 jobs in that economically strapped part of the state.

Of all the arguments against moving the TERRORISTS to Illinois, the economic reason is the one we should be touting. I wish just one Republican would do his homework and calculate the total cost of renovating and staffing the Illinois facility. 3000 jobs! Just what we need - thousands of new federal employees! If you add up the salaries and the benefits and retirement costs, we are into muti billions. We will own one very expensive, first class, muslim-friendly prison! Hmmm! Don't we have one of those already? Oh yeah! Gitmo!

Go public with this argument: We have already spent billions to upgrade Gitmo to a muslim-friendly prison. We currently use military personnel to staff it. It is in a neutral location. Now, we are supposed to purchase the prison at a price determined by the state of Illinois (Chicago prices), retrofit it for muslim occupants and staff it with thousands of new federal employees. If we don't use federal employees, it will be SEIU workers!

At the end of the day we own a very special and very expensive prison. Just so Obama can say he "closed Gitmo"!

The only bad thing about getting rid of Harry Reid in Nevada is that this damn lunatic scumbag would become the new rat leader.

Durbin should be forced to bunk with the gitmo terrorists for a few days.

If Sen. Durbin becomes the democrat leader, more people would hear about his liberal ideas, and he would be more likely to lose, in 2014.
