On today's Morning Joe, Larry O'Donnell called the Roman Catholic bishop who barred Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) from taking communion a "political hack."

Interestingly, Mika Brzezinski had a totally different take, arguing the controversy was not about the Church but about Kennedy publicizing the matter in a play to his base. Though Bishop Thomas Tobin sent his letter to Kennedy more than two years ago, its contents didn't come to light until Kennedy recently revealed them to a Rhode Island newspaper.

I think a church, The Roman Catholic Church, is in their Divine Right as to decide who gets to drink from the Cup. Patrick Kennedy needs to go find a religion that allows him to curse, abort, get drunk, and run around, and lie to his constituents..

Exactly. Kennedy is trying to demonize the bishop in the media to save his neck, Mika gets it, so does O’Donnell, who’s playing his bit part trying to help Kennnedy’s strategy work.

It all depends on how much and how many Catholics follow their bishops rather than being supine media suckers.

Sounds like the Episcopal church. It comes complete with gay leaders and a women bishop that says private prayer is useless.

This is just to funny..These priest stood on their heads for Teddy Kennedy and let him get away with murder and God knows what else he also was pushing the death care bill which had all kinds of sins in it..Abortion and Fag worship to quote a couple...Killing of Old people and the list just goes on..Could it be that Patrick does not have the money daddy had to spread around to these priest to keep everything legal in heaven..and not be a sin..Teddy spread his money around after beofee he died and I think the Catholic Church didn’t get as much of it as they thought they would..
