I hadn’t thought about that? He would be great. Good infrastructure, basic personnel team in place. He could parlay the whole “we investigate hard core” type of theme. I would love to see a tag team of Brietbart and Fox White House correspondents finally ask the hard questions the way Les Kinsolving does. Brietbart could start out on the right of Fox. By “right” I mean in the topics they cover. It would be a mistake to be a partisan hack in the way Olbermann does his shtick. Brietbart could be even more libertarian to Fox’s center right status quo type of coverage.

Fox is only successful because of their objectivity ,,, they have conservative opinunated personalities like Beck and Hannity but the NEWS in general is the most objective accross the board . Leave Ailes alone ,, he’s a genius for allowing the market to decide what’s a good product .

I doubt Olbermann has ever voluntarily lifted his ass off his cushion-lined sofa to investigate what’s on the lunch tray. He’s exactly the sort to have a gofer check for him. Then he spends about 5 minutes combing the DailyKos for a topic that incites his Neronic hunger for a scrap of liver-fluke ravaged war meat that will pull the liberal vultures off their ugly tree for a five minute hate-a-long.
I agree that there needs to be more solid investigation and less “Breaking News!” BS. By the time the news breaks the opposition has sent in the drones to provide cover.
I’d personally like to see Breitbart grab that mantle.

I guess the best takeover target would be CNN or HLN? CNN is a ratings hole and their strategy of trying to out left MSNBC is failing. MSNBC is peeking with the strategy of trying to court of the granola’s and bitter baby boomer wash ups. Maybe when Time Warner’s stock is back down to $17.00 a share.
