FOX news can be defeated, if we attack from the right

Posted on 11/24/2009 1:30:37 PM PST by steve0

It in the best interest if another network attacks as hard from the right as MSNBC is attacking from the left. Deep inside Ailes would welcome the positive impact on conservative thought. He can't go any further right even if he wants to as all the competition is to his left.

We don't need Fox defeated but it would be better for us if we have to competitors attempting to attract American right of center viewers. Any interested investors? For this to happen their would have to be some serious Business investors willing to be in it for the long haul. There is always room to be a Coke to some other competitors Pepsi.

I think Fox is doing well right now. People are converting from the MSM to Fox because they are tired of getting filtered sound bites and want to know what really is going on.

To what end? And Fox is NOT right — the rest of the MSM is so far left that in he middle looks right.

WTF?

Is that supposed to be TWO competitors?

Why do you want Fox defeated?

Why do you then say "We don't need Fox defeated"?

What are you on about?

In my opinon, when it comes to news, “most” people don’t want just a conservative or right-wing echo chamber. They want exactly what Fox promises: Fair and Balanced news coverage.

Opinion and analysis programs are another matter altogether.

I think Fox strikes a good balance, and appreciate the left wing voices they have on their opinion programs, if for no other reason than to understand how the enemy thinks. If hearing opinions contrary to your own isn’t something a person can handle, then they probably should avoid all forms of mass media.

Agreed, but topic selection is a big part of how the media shapes our perceptions. Consider how many people attend Church, more than all the viewers of Monday night football. There is a Sports section to every newspaper and broadcast but not many Religion sections or discussions of spiritual issues. I was watching when Ailes was shopping the idea of a more balanced network with Helms supporters. Also a second network could better reflect the diversity of the audience, in that I doubt many of the Anchors at Fox believe in creationism.

Thank God for FOX! Don’t think we need any competition. They’ll never be “Right”, but that’s OK. They’re slogan is “Fair and Balanced” and for the most part I think they live up to that very well. I want some “left of center” comments, that’s how we decide. Nope, leave it alone, like it just the way it is.

FOX news is not right wing. It is just that they actually present both sides and the other MSM outlets are so far to the left that it makes FOX look like they are right wing. It is more a sad commentary on US media's leftward bias that is suppose to the bulwark to protect freedom but has become nothing more than a willing spin doctor for the left than on FOX which is balanced news reporting.

If you want to start a more to the right news organization go for it. As Rush Limbaugh has demonstrated over the years the water is fine come on in. But what would be the point in attacking FOX? Besides Talk Radio and parts of the inter-net FOX right now is the only televised mass media representative that is actually upholding the First Amendment of United States Constitution.

Watch - in no time at all you may have Breitbart TV on Cable and then you’ll get the competition you’re looking for. Andrew has the best chance of launching a network and an actual taste for it and an investigators dig below the surface attitude that no one else is touching anywhere.
