Huckabee: Palin Not “Completely Lacking of Any Intellectual Capacity”
mediaite ^ | November 25th, 2009 | Robert Quigley

“I think that she’s not anywhere near the person that sometimes she’s been portrayed to be –- as completely lacking of any intellectual capacity.”

–Mike Huckabee, subtly putting the stress on the word “completely.” Is this emerging as the new party line on Palin among other top Republican politicians? Last week, Haley Barbour told Chris Matthews that Palin is “a lot brighter than she gets credit for,” and on yesterday’s @katiecouric, Fox News Channel host and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee trotted out a similar-sounding soundbite.

Huckabee did go with the ‘Palin has more executive experience than Obama’ line, which was defensible on some grounds during the 2008 election, but sounds increasingly like a stretch now that Obama has been president for almost a year. He said definitively that he’d vote for her over Obama in 2012 — though declined to say who he’d pick for the Republican primary, which may have something to do with the fact that he’s a frontrunner for the party nomination at this admittedly very early date. Elsewhere in the interview, Huckabee said that he was offended by Obama’s bow to the emperor of Japan.

Republicans who are not Sarah Palin are currently in the tricky position of not wanting to come across as either too critical of or too enthusiastic about her. Huckabee largely pulled it off, though the soundbite came across as an obvious hedge. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Huckabee and Palin are frenemies in book sales?

From the Birmingham News:

About 500 people packed the Books-A-Million store at Colonial Brookwood Village this afternoon to get an autographed copy of 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s book, “A Simple Christmas: Twelve Stories that Celebrate the True Holiday Spirit.”

Some in the crowd had been to the store earlier to get wristbands to get a place in line for Monday’s book signing by Sarah Palin for her book, “Going Rogue.”

More than 1,800 people showed up to try to get one of the 1,000 wristbands to meet Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

If Huckabee disses Palin for her intellect, then he will get as much support from me as McCain did.

Huckabee is a petty weasel. He wants to run again and be a pro life Democrat.

The Libs hate her and her challangers are oh so jealous.

You'd better play nice or Sarah will leave you out of any cabinet post.

Faint praise from the Huskster.

Huckabee has authored a book recently. Apart from his own self promotion, I haven’t heard much about the sales figures or the crowds.

“Palin Not “Completely Lacking of Any Intellectual Capacity””

It is intellect that has gotten us into this fix.

It will be heart that gets us out.

Sarah has heart!

Gee, that's mighty generous of you Huck.
You are much too kind.
Say, how much ratings did the “Perky One” get from this interview with the Huckster?

Palin Haters Boost Levi Johnston’s Popularity

Levi Johnston is famous for one reason — he’s currently the lib’s favorite stooge for getting jabs in at Sarah Palin.

The concocted celebrity has been all over the entertainment media and will probably be offered his own reality show soon.

Johnston is bragging about having secret dirt on Palin, so he’s being courted by reporters who claim to want to talk to him about his Playgirl magazine misadventures.

In a recent Los Angeles Times opinion piece titled “Levi Johnston: He’s hot, he’s cute, he’s playing hardball,” the subtitle reads, “Who can resist this Playgirl-posing bad boy?”

But members of the press aren’t the only ones fawning over the sullied dude. Palin’s almost son-in-law has been making the L.A. social scene.

Johnston recently attended two celeb-packed parties in Hollywood. He was hovering around US Magazine’s annual Hot 100 with two security guards at his side. The crowd he hung with included Adam Lambert, Audrina Patridge and Leona Lewis.

That same evening Johnston was also invited to the Chateau Marmont for GQ’s Men of the Year party where he had a chance to rub elbows with Morgan Freeman, Tom Ford, Kobe Bryant, January Jones, Lindsay Lohan, Seth MacFarlane and even Clint Eastwood.

A kid from the tundra goes from relative obscurity to hobnobbing with Dirty Harry.

What a country.

The three easiest way for a used car salesman to gain power
is to become a preacher, a politician or get a TV show.

DNC Fundraising Project Warns of ‘Dangerous’ Palin

The left’s antipathy for Sarah Palin knows no bounds. But along with the hatred comes a lot of fear.

Folks at Organizing for America, the successor organization to Obama for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee, appear to be trembling in their Uggs.

An e-mail has been sent to supporters from the group’s director, Mitch Stewart. It reads as follows: “Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.”

“It’s dangerous,” supporters were told. “Remember, this is the person who coined the term ‘Death Panels’ — and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.”

The e-mail goes on to state that “whatever lie comes next” would not only be covered by the media but would be “constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.”

In order for the group to be “ready for anything,” supporters were told of a $500,000 goal to “help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.”

Palin was also condemned for appearing on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show and described as having “outrageously — and falsely” suggested that Americans could “face jail time as punishment” if they don’t buy insurance.

Potential jail time is part of Pelosi’s House version.

Is this emerging as the new party line on Palin among other top Republican politicians?

This statement assumes that Mike Huckabee is in fact a top Republican politician. He isn't.

Aside from that, this article unfortunately tells the tale of any Palin candidacy. Electoral politics is perception, and if you have to convince people that you're not stupid first, then you've lost the war before you've fought the first battle. The Dems 'Dan Quayled' Palin in the last election and she's unlikely to recover. That's the just the political reality as I see it...quite apart from her obvious talent or the reality of her intellectual capacity.

Exactly. There are countless “intellectuals” who delight in brutality, oppression, and genocide. Being an “intellectual” has absolutely nothing to do with being good.

That said, Huck is a complete moron compared to Sarah.
