1st question - Yes.

2nd question - As many as is needed to be successful. When all else fails, superior force tends to overtake opposition.

3rd question - Strawman of strawmans. How about the last 50 years of non-representation? I’d say that constitutes tyranny.

In summary - keep it up.

The Marxists are wanting a wake up call. And it will be right on time if they act “stupidly”.

So far that is roughly 11,403,417 gun bought this year.

The real story that everyone seems to miss is that out of this figure, there are millions of NEW guns that have hit the streets and no corresponding surge in gun violence statistics. That's because all these reported sales were to law-abiding citizens.

-- Finally, how would the NRA define government 'tyranny'? Does having to live with health care reform that one disagrees with constitute being 'attacked by politicians'?"

Don't know about the NRA, but my answer is HELL YES!

I really think the number of armed Americans who would kill and put their own life on the line to preserve Second Amendment rights is way under-estimated.

Is “Are you still beating your wife?” a yes or no question?

— “Do you believe that the Second Amendment provides individuals with a right to shoot and kill government officials when they deem our government has become ‘tyrannical’?

When the tyrants come to arrest the free citizen for refusing to turn in his firearms, or refusing to pay for health insurance he does not want to buy, then the representatives of the tyrants will be met with armed opposition. There may be a tendency for other like-minded citizens to help fend off the arresting parties. Then there may be escalated efforts from both sides of this situation, of which the armed resistance to tyranny may have a chance to prevail.
And no, I’m not still beating my wife.

— “If one or two individuals who believe our government is ‘tyrannical’ are not enough, how many individuals does it take to make political violence against our government legitimate?

The one or two individuals being threatened with violence by the tyrant are plenty already to RESIST the tyrant with violence.
Still not beating my wife.

— Finally, how would the NRA define government ‘tyranny’? Does having to live with health care reform that one disagrees with constitute being ‘attacked by politicians’?”

When the “politicians” show up armed at the same location as the citizen to force his cooperation with their unconstitutional policy, i.e. forcing citizens to “buy” insurance, (especially if that money can be used to perform abortions or anything else that his “religion” prohibits) that is ‘tyranny’.
The wife is not beating me either.

1: If the government is truly tyrannical, what difference does it make how many people believe it to be so? This would have been an excellent argument in favor of disarming the resistance movements in France, Belgium, Poland, Greece, etc., during World War II.

2: There were exactly 56 signers of The Declaration of Independence.

3: Government arrogance is nothing new. It existed since the Pharaohs set free men and slaves to work to build absurd monuments to their most over glorified selves. They used to be called pyramids; now they are called things like “John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.” Universal health-care by itself is an issue to be decided and reviewed by elected representatives. If it should pass constitutional muster, than so be it. The people are the source of all power in this country.

If the law exceeds the authority delegated to government by the people, and is forced on them anyway, then it is tyranny. The parts about criminal charges against people who refuse to partake in the plan, and denying care to certain classes based on the decisions of bureaucrats, is tyranny in its most obvious form. It is life and death, as bad as the starvation of the Ukraine or the Ghetto of Warsaw. How are we expected to “live with” government health-care when it offers government the power to kill our loved ones, confiscate our fortunes, and imprison us?

The Jews tried to live with forced labor a few decades ago, but most of them didn't live very long. The Chinese tried to live with the Japanese version of government medicine, but the government strapped them to posts and detonated bombs around them so they could cut the Chinese open and see what the bombs had done. These procedures did not involve anesthetics..

The Soviets tried government health-care, too. The jokes about their drunk and incompetent doctors really aren't funny in the light of actual events. Someone might argue that the British have universal health-care and it works just fine. Good. Let them have Cass Sunstein, Bill Ayers, Anita Dunn, and Van Jones.

Suppressing a yawn here. I worked at the FBI Data Center in West Virginia for two years: October-December, numbers are ALWAYS up for the NICS Instant Check: Christmas is coming, and it’s hunting season.

Two flamingly obvious reasons why Gun sales are up from the previous few months.

And considering that Hunting can put food on the table cheaply, it’s no wonder it’s up, given the current state of the economy. . .

“...it is war...it is the war of the Democrats against the Baby Boom...who have paid into and now are poised to reap the “benefits” of Social Security and Medicare...it is the war of those who created these fraudulent programs ...which have fleeced 45 years of taxes from the Baby Boom..and never intended to grant them the “benefits” they were conned into allowing to be withheld from their paychecks. It is a personal war...because by hastening them to their graves...they intend to fleece their descendants of their estates.”

It merely the right to the means, it does not justify the action.

Those are for the members of the government to worry about, and act accordingly.

Article says, “The total is probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time.”

Reality—The total is probably MUCH MUCH MORE as valid purchase/carry permits issued by many states do not require that NICS background checks be performed when transferring a firearm. Mine’s good for three years and required by the state for a handgun purchase but optional for a long gun purchase.

Do you believe that the Second Amendment provides individuals with a right to...

The 2A "provides" absolutely nothing. Rights are pre-existing in human beings - we come with them fully installed. All the Bill of Rights does is acknowledge this.

This is NOT a trivial point.

I think you know my mind here.

— “If one or two individuals who believe our government is ‘tyrannical’ are not enough, how many individuals does it take to make political violence against our government legitimate?

Just one

— Finally, how would the NRA define government ‘tyranny’?

I don’t know how the NRA defines tyranny.

Does having to live with health care reform that one disagrees with constitute being ‘attacked by politicians’?”

A resounding YES! And if more Americans were like me these commie SOB’s wouldn’t even THINK about strongarming the American people, forcing commie medicine on them.

I really do not believe politicians know what they are toying with.

We are not Europeans. We are not Canadians. We are Americans and we will be free.

Happy Thanksgiving, FReepers!
