Just bought a Kel-Tec .380 for my CCW. Very nice little tiny pocket pistol. And it’s made in my state (FL). Just one more for my collection!
My SUB-2000 in 9mm (G17 configuration) is my go-to/bug-out carbine. Tiny when folded (16.5" long - I can hide it under a coat no problem), light weight, massive firepower (a standard 115 grain 9mm from that 16" barrel yields 550 lb-ft of energy, equal to a 357 magnum, and with the 33 round Glock mags you have a lot of those powerful shots), and amazing accuracy (open sites allow you to drop a full magazine into a 2" circle at 50 yards - more than enough for any SD-type work).
The SU-16A is also fun - a really lightweight 5.56mm rifle that folds and doesn't look like the typical "evil black gun". A hoot to shoot, doesn't poop where it eats (piston system), takes the Magpul PMAGs without a problem, and is 1 MOA accurate. But I still want to add an RFB - 26" of 308 bullpup goodness!
I'm waiting for their new PMR-30 to come out - 30 rounds of 22 WMR, and just 19 ounces loaded! Should make a heck of a plinker/trail gun...
Yes, you'll get addicted to their products and one will never be enough! Thankfully, like the Hi-Points, they're very affordable, and like the Hi-Points, they're amazingly reliable, functional weapons. Both are great value, US built firearms.
A home could have a 9mm pistol (High Point C-9 - $110 street), a concealable carbine (Kel-Tec SUB-2000 - $300 street price), and 300 rounds of 9mm FMJ ammunition ($12/50) for under $500. That's a pretty good load-out for a home looking for home/traveling defense for a low price!
If you haven't already, head over to KTOG and find the best site dedicated to Kel-Tecs. It's a good place to learn more about these phenomenal weapons...
shoot it at least 200 times before you rely on it. KTs tend to have a “break in” period.
