White House Dismisses Climategate Because Most People Believe in Global Warming Tuesday, December 01, 2009 By Fred Lucas, Staff Writer
(CNSNews.com) - As President Barack Obama prepares to travel to a global climate summit next week in Copenhagen, the White House is dismissing the climategate controversy that has arisen over the leak of email communications between top climate-change scientists that some skeptics say cast doubt on the legitimacy of the science behind the theory that human activity is causing global warming.
Obama will be attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference on Dec. 9. The conference in Copenhagen comes soon after the emails released by a computer hacker has led one Republican U.S. senator to call for an investigtation.
Some global warming skeptics have referred to the e-mails--from the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit in England--as climategate.
But White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs dismissed the controversy on Monday, saying that most people dont dispute global warming.
In the order of several thousand scientists have come to the conclusion that climate change is happening, Gibbs said. I dont think that any of that is, quite frankly among most people, in dispute.

We have gone completely insane. "Climate change" legislation is empirical proof that we're all mad as hatters. Completely divorced from reality. Legislating weather????!!! Will I ever wake from this dream of madness?
If any of you have a “benchmark lib” that you talk to,
see if any of them have heard of the GW email/data scandal.
I’m betting not.
So, we go from “settled science” to most believe in global warming therefore it must be true. Most cogent defense of the indefensible I’ve heard in a while.
Actually, that’s a lie. Recent polling show that most Americans do not believe global warming either exists or is a manmade phenominon.
The patients are in charge of the Asylum!
Most little children believe in Santa Clause. And they quite concrete reasons for doing so.
Gibbs. A bigger buffoon than Baghdad Bob. He is the poster boy for the ineptitude, arrogance and scripted personas of the current occupants of the WH.
And a lot of them believe Elvis is still alive.
they HAVE...
(more coffee)
As you often point out: these people are following a religion.
Now that’s leadership... /s
“White House Dismisses Climategate Because Most People Believe in Global Warming.”
As the emails prove, most people are woefully misinformed. Deceived actually.
There was a time when most people believed in slavery. And these days, most people are against abortion.
Yeah, and some people “ Believed “ in Jim Jones and David Koresh also, and look where that got them.
They wouldn’t use that as “proof” for belief in God. Quite the opposite-they seem to need science to prove it.
More recently, some people believed we never made it to the Moon.
Even more recently, people thought Obama would usher in a new era of hope and prosperity.
They were, all of them, WRONG.
As the old saying goes, if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.
[ yes, I know, by 1492 most educated people knew the Earth was round ]
In the order of several thousand scientists have come to the conclusion that climate change is happening, Gibbs said. I dont think that any of that is, quite frankly among most people, in dispute.
Very few of those scientists have looked at the raw data, much of which has been (conveniently) destroyed. They have only seen the adjusted data and trusted those providing it. That trust should be shattered by now. If there is global warming, and if it is man caused, it will have to be completely reproved from the raw data.
When Galileo discovered the moons of Jupiter, he wanted to name them after members of the Medici family to ensure his funding. Similarly the Warmists produce the results governments desire to be able to exercise more control over their populations. Much of the scientific method has developed to prevent scientists from adjusting their results to curry the favor of the politically or monetarily powerful by allowing other scientists without the same strings to duplicate their experiments.
