....I would agree...annual murder rate always tops 200...the city has been losing population for years...boarded up buildings and trash....60,000 drug addicts awake each day looking for an angry fix...a public school system that’s dangerous...violent crime in daylight...all the pathologies of urban America in full flower...I know that Freepers don’t like Pelosi, but when her dad and the other Italian and Irish ran the city it worked a lot better.
You have to go all the way back to 2007 -- and the fifth season of The Wire -- to see the last time Baltimore had an Irish mayor. That mayor, Martin O'Malley, is now the unpopular far-left Governor of Maryland.
I recall trying to get to Ft Holibird in 68 and deciding I could save some cash by walking there from the railstation (much farther than I thought or I would not have tried it). Anyway, cop car pulled up and asked what I was doing? I told him heading to Holibird. He said said, hop in son, you will never get there and I don’t mean you could not walk it, just not safely!

Another way to look at it is that those 60K heroin addicts are 10% of the population of Bloodymore, Murderland. Then remember that there are some halfway decent neighborhoods in Bawlmer, like Roland Park. You then get a feel for how thick the druggies are in the bad neighborhoods.
I don’t recall any of these presidents using an uzi. Guess I read the wrong history books.
If you read one of todays P.C. history books you will find Jones but none of the others, they being oppressive white guys & not worthy of mention.
More guns laws, and some sort of massive tax increase on productive white people, are the only possible avenues to prevent this sort of mysterious tragedy in the future.
In Baltimore, it’s not a party until someone breaks out the Uzi.
Let’s just say I’d be very surprised if this turns out to involve a fully automatic firearm. I’ll be even more surprised if this turns out to involve a properly registered and taxed “machine gun.”

You can say a lot about Willy Don's abrasive personality, but he loved the City and ran it very well.

Interesting story - Little Italy was one of the few neighborhoods not burnt to the ground during the riots in the 60’s. Apparently some guys came down and took up camp on the rooftops with the instruction “shoot to kill” The police looked the other way (had their hands full). The strategy was successful.
Might have had something to do with who was living in the city at the time. In my home town the safest neighborhood in the city was where the Italians lived. It was controlled by the mob. Very low crime rate.

Yeah, me too. Probably a semi that looks like a Uzi. For sure it wouldn't be a legal submachine gun, as a legally transferable Uzi would be worth around $10,000.00. So even if fully auto, which is doubtful, it would most likely be an illegal conversion, which all by itself is a 10 year federal prison sentence plus a $100,000.00 fine.
