Machine-gun shooting at Baltimore hotel injures 3

BALTIMORE - Machine gunfire broke out during a birthday party at a downtown Baltimore hotel, critically injuring three people. Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi (goo-lee-EL'-mee) says police were called to the Sheraton hotel around 3:15 a.m. Sunday because of a report of a shooting.

Guglielmi says a fight broke out at the party and then someone began shooting. Police found the Uzi submachine gun in one of the two adjoining rooms where the party was held.

They ought to pass a law saying that machining gunning guests at downtown hotels is illegal. Then this stuff wouldn’t happen.

Looking back on all those birthday parties, held in homes that had multiple firearms... sometimes in an open rack... with no locks... and a box of shells nearby...

... and not one single accident, let alone a deliberate shooting...

Almost any semi-auto can easily be modified to fire in full-auto. The trick for the untrained is to reconfigure the sear so that the weapon will cease firing when the trigger is released. Most amateur mod’s will, once started firing will continue firing until the magazine is empty unless the weapon malfunctions. Not a good thing unless you are doing a drive-by and just hosing down the place.
