I wonder how long before they will be regulating how much CO2 a individual can contribute. How will they measure? Will there be fines involved? will the funds be sent to the Earth Gods at the UN?

And we all know how that one turned out.
Shouldn’t they have to prove in court, that the current levels of CO2 are endangering humans, in order to take control of it?

I think the 2008 election will be studied for a long time.
0 and crew did a nice job of appearing fairly centrist. He spoke in platitudes, and sure didn’t lay out any of the crazier things he had planned up front. He had a fawning press at his feet, who provided a constant barrage of propaganda for $0.00.
Don’t forget (as apparently almost everyone has) that 0 didn’t take public campaign financing and spent around $1 billion on the Presidency. He outspent McCain something like 3 to 1.
Finally, there was something of a perfect storm. I guess for the “average person” the contrast between the constant MSM bashing of Bush versus the adoration of 0 had an effect. Brainwashed into hating Bush and by extension everything Republican, what was the alternative besides 0? Lack of good public education factored in, since many were simply not equipped intellectually to make a rational decision, or be curious about the “real 0”. As a final nail, there was the “fiscal crisis”, IMO manufactured by the Dems yet adroitly laid at the feet of Bush and the Republicans.
Now, here we are, gripped by Great Depression 2 and girding ourselves for catastrophe. God save America!
If someone had published the whole thing as a novel, the critics would have called the plot too far-fetched to be real.
It snowed a few miles to the NE yesterday, and there was a light snow yesterday right before noon in the western part of town.
21 degrees here this morning and in the teens in upper wino country.
