My father told me a couple of weeks ago that the church could no longer sell farm-cured hams as a fund-raiser... the local board of health had shut them down. They haven't had home-brewed root beer at the summer church festivals since I was a kid, and you can't buy unpasteurized apple cider anywhere any more... not even at the mill.

Contrary to popular belief, there is such a thing as too much safety.

Well, the Canadian government provides them with their healthcare if they get sick from bad pork, so it is a logical conclusion that the government is concerned about where they get their food from.

Sometimes the best of intentions lead straight down to the hell that is the path to Tyranny.

The elites and the commies all want precious control over your lives to make them feel important and good about themselves.

It's the health and safety brigade. we saw it first in England. We need to tell them to stay the heck out of our lives.

My employer's city in North Texas recently had a Corporate Challenge, with companies competing against each other in athletic events. It ended with a ceremony and a cake contest. Get this: the cakes had to be store bought. You could decorate them with your own icing, but you couldn't bake the cake yourself.

Unpasteurized apple cider can send you on a real trip if any of those apples were dropped to the ground and picked up as culls for the cider press.

There are all sorts of diseases lurking about orchards, many of them dropped behind by deer.
