I was watching the movie “Streets of New York” last evening and part of it dealt with the anti draft riots in NYC circa 1863. The Army fired on the rioters with both rifles and cannon. I wonder what today’s army would do if given an order to disburse a riotous crowd seeking justice and representation before our legislators who seem deaf to the idea of representative democracy. IMO, there is a greater than 90% chance they would not follow such orders today.

Yamamoto is also reputed to have told the War Ministry that any invation of the US would be ill advised as most all Americans at that time owned guns and would use them to defend their homes.
yes and our liberal leaders want to take that away from us also. I know my father who was a WW II vet always said in the last years of his life, I fear what is happening to this country. I told everyone I knew that my dad was spinning in his grave when the one, bowed the the Emperor of Japan.
a picture like that will really help us win over folks by showing that we’re not at all racist. it won’t give the media any ammunition either. good job.
Obama announced the above, and then went off to play a round of golf and is now going on vacation - AGAIN - to Hawaii.
Way to go, venturer! We win this battle one corrupt incumbent at a time.
Thanks. I was the only one at the Obama protest in Oslo, Norway with a “Tea Party Polar Express” sign.
Why watch out?
Our current Republcian leadership is no different than the Democrat one.
Mitch McDonnell won’t even try to slow down the Obamacare legislation.
With friends like this, we don’t need political enemies.
“Rush Limbaugh and conservative interest groups are criticizing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for not putting up a strong enough fight to stop the Democratic healthcare legislation.
The conservative talk radio host has questioned McConnell’s strategy a few times on his program this week, joining a chorus of growing critics who say the Senate GOP leader is aiding Democrats by allowing the chamber to debate and vote on amendments. “
Our 912 group had a Dallas Tea Party guy speak. He said they have to be non-partisan to avoid running afoul of the gubmint. Having said that, how many conservative Democrats can one name?
So I’m a “radical”? lol
George Will pointed out today that in a Kentucky State Senate race just concluded, the Republican won by 12 points in a Dim district. Something is really brewing.
>anti draft riots
Sounds like the army firing on people who would not fight (unpatriotic), as opposed to the army/police firing on the (patriotic) heart and soul of this country, us.
The GOP better be listening. If the McCain's, Graham's, Snowe's and the like don't like it, tough.
They are out anyway. Dead meat. They have absolutely zero opportunity for reconciliation.
As for the other Republicans, they can get with the program and perhaps survive.
