Climate change bill gets on a bipartisan path (Lindsey Graham did it for Obama)

WASHINGTON — Senators negotiating a bipartisan climate change bill on Thursday unveiled the broad outlines of their plan to combine greenhouse gas limits with expanded offshore drilling, more nuclear power and protections for refiners in a bid to attract support from wary lawmakers.

Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., announced their proposal as international leaders at a summit in Copenhagen were trying to devise a plan to combat global warming.

President Barack Obama is set to attend the Copenhagen meeting next week.

Graham said the group “did this just for Copenhagen … to give the president guidance on what he could say” about progress in the Senate on the issue.

Any congress critter cooperating with this should be (and will) be thrown out at the earliest opportunity.

Economics appear to be well beyond their simple mental processes. Science is on an entirely different quantum level.

Leave us alone congress. Go an play with your corrupt friends and await the upcoming firing squad.

Follow the money and do some digging. Find out what kind of money Graham has invested in carbon trading and “green” tech.

Shamesly has got to go. dumb as*

CO2 is part of the cycle of life on earth.

WE breathe it out, the Ocean spews it out, etc, and the trees and plants eat it up - then give us back oxygen. Without them, we don't live. Without us, they don't live.

need less CO2 in air, stop raping and burning the lungs of earth - the rain forests. And plant trees. They'll gobble up the “poison” and give us back Oxygen. That's how it's worked for billions of years.

Of course, those who made/make their millions from the oil operations in the rain forests - by burning them down, as well as forest right here - don't want us to look at this approach...(operations like OXY oil, the company that Gore SR., and now his little boy, have made their fortunes on. (GOOGLE “OXY oil Gore” to see how Gore gores us all)

But they won't let us drill in ocean or in the deserts...cause THEY don't have their piece of those pies...

flood shamesty’s office with emails just to let him know - he's going.

Just sent this to Lindsey:

What part of this political fraud is it that you don't understand?
Cap and Trade and this show in Denmark are all about destroying American industry and sending American tax dollars abroad.
No aspect of the world environment will be made cleaner by anything in the Cap and Trade effort.
These measures actually harm the 3rd world by restricting any meaningful energy infrastructure, and pretending “renewable” energy, with all of it's inefficiencies and inadequacies, could possibly help them grow and thrive.
Get some facts and quit participating in this fraud.
Until then I'll continue to finance your opposition.

Graham isn't mentioned here but I think it is a fine example of why cap and trade isn't dead. This one is about Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Bloomberg touring the carbon trading floor and talking about investing taxpayer money in the carbon trading scam.

Gov. Schwarzenegger also announced an executive order directing California Secretary for Environmental Protection Linda Adams to coordinate state climate change policy. The executive order, which will formally be signed on Tuesday, also instructs the secretary to work with the California Air Resources Board to seek to develop a framework that allows California to work together with RGGI. Such an arrangement would help build a large, robust carbon trading market that will dramatically reduce emissions.

RGGI (pronounced ReGGIe) is a cooperative effort by Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states to discuss the design of a regional cap-and-trade program initially covering carbon dioxide emissions from power plants in the region. In the future, RGGI may be extended to include other sources of greenhouse gas emissions, and greenhouse gases other than CO2.

Currently, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Vermont are participating in the RGGI effort. Legislation was signed in April 2006 that requires Maryland to become a full participant in the process by June 30, 2007. In addition, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, the Eastern Canadian Provinces and New Brunswick are observers in the process.

Earlier in the day, Gov. Schwarzenegger toured a greenhouse gas emissions credit trading desk at Credit Suisse with New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Cap and trade isn't going to die easy because too many of our elected people will be left holding an empty bag that is supposed to hold our money. I'm sure there's a lot of private money riding on the sucess of the scam. I'm aware the Evan Bayh and Dick Lugar have thier own private sequestration projects going on. (They're making money by owning land and letting the trees grow)

Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) is helping to negotiate a nuclear energy amendment that could help bring aboard swing votes who support the industry. Architects and backers of the nuclear effort include Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who are seeking more federal financial backing and other support.

(snip)

Nuclear Energy Institute spokesman John Keeley said the industry’s priorities include greater funding for loan guarantees. Congress has set aside $18.5 billion thus far for nuclear plant loan guarantees under a DOE financing program first authorized in the 2005 Energy Policy Act. But this would cover only a small number of new plants.

Four proposals remain in the running for DOE guarantees from this funding, according to several published reports. They are: UniStar Nuclear Energy/Constellation Energy Group’s proposed Calvert Cliffs plant in Maryland; NRG Energy Inc.’s South Texas Project; Southern Co.’s Vogtle plant in Georgia; and Scana Corp.’s Summer plant in South Carolina.

Absolutely puck stupid people.
Have no idea how any of the three of them learned to wipe their own a$$’s.
Graham has got to go - he’s a technical embarrassment to anyone in the same room. Leiberman is just emphatically dumba$$. And Mr. Kerry? Well for a liar on botox he’s just bumbling on. Thank God he flamed for POTUS!
Ya know?
I would trust any 10 of you freepers over the government that is in place now. And I wouldn’t care if you’re on coffee or southern comfort.

I strongly suspect that political cross-dresser Lindsey Graham is (de facto) announcing for candidacy for president.

He is pottying on principle in order to accomplish the "full McCain", siding with the leftists so as to merit friendly ink from the Marxist press. All this "maverick" makeup is used to position himself to fool people into thinking that HE is the electable centrist.

It will not work.

We are WAY ahead of Mister Graham and his duplicity, and the electorate is now quite wary of another McCain second place.

It’s all about the clout. Who’s going to vote to give that up? People want to hang on to their powerful representatives in Congress and ethics takes a backseat to that. You’re asking people to give up their seniority, essentially. That’s why creeps like Gramnisty keep getting re-elected. The structure is what’s got to change. IMHO.

We have RINOs pandering to the Left to expand the government's control over literally every aspect of our lives.

Sickening.

What I can say about rino lindsey’s progress on his senate career is that the traitorous prick is gonna get thrown out next election.
