SALT LAKE CITY — Still looking for that perfect gift for the Mitt Romney fans on your Christmas list?

How about a ticket to Romney's only Utah appearance on his upcoming tour to promote his just-finished book, "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness"?

It's not until March 13, but tickets for a speech by the former presidential candidate at the Salt Palace go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The tickets, priced at $25 through Jan. 31 or $95 with a private reception with Romney, include a pre-signed copy of the book that's scheduled to be released March 2.

The host of the event, the University of Utah's Hinckley Institute of Politics, has set up a Web site for ticket sales, www.mittromneyutah.com. They can also be purchased through Smith'sTix.

"We wanted to put the tickets on sale in time for people to buy their stocking-stuffers for Christmas," said institute director Kirk Jowers, a longtime Romney supporter.

Romney follows another possible 2012 contender to Utah, Sarah Palin. Palin, who resigned last summer as governor of Alaska, signed copies of her new book, "Going Rogue" for more than 800 people last week at the Salt Lake City Costco.

Some of her backers spent the night at the discount warehouse store to secure their place in line. While there was no charge to attend her book signing, Palin did not address the crowd.

"This event is completely different," Jowers said. "Romney will be giving a substantive address. It is a lecture, not a book signing."

I wouldn’t pay $95 for a meeting with Willard, and a signed copy of his book, even if it included a $100 bill as a bookmark.

I’ll pay $95 if I can arrange a meeting between his five husky sons and a military recruiter, will that be good?

I didn’t realize Romney had 5 sons. I think what’s his name in Arkansas has 4 or 5 really big sons!

Did Gov Palin charge? Just curious ... I don’t remember. Romney is such a legend in his own mind, he blieves that it is quite the honor to meet him. Makes one want to vomit. How absolutely arrogant to put a worth on a ‘handshake’ and a ‘hello’.

95 bucks, huh...

That is over $300 less than his per vote cost on his FAILED 2008 presidential bid...

I thought he was the great white businessman..

How many copies has he sold so far? I’m sure there will be dozens of people camped out in their limousines waiting to see his perfect hair.

""I’ll pay $95 if I can arrange a meeting between his five husky sons and a military recruiter, will that be good?"

To quote Mitt Romney on gays in the military: "One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share."

To quote Mitt Romney again: “one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected.”

Keeping up the Romney tradition of never serving, five sons of military age.

Romneymania will be running wild as hundreds of people will be camping overnight for a spot in line to get Mitt to autograph copies of his million-copy bestseller!

They just can’t stop talking about Mitt Romney on all the talk shows, even if only to trash him as unqualified for any office higher than dog catcher!

Mitt has to shoo away the paparazzi looking for pictures of that chiselled granite face topped by that elegantly groomed hair!

They’re all going wild for Mitt! Mitt! Mitt! Mitt!
