Obama praises a climate flop: Copenhagen talks end with dud of a deal

WASHINGTON -- After a day spent frantically darting around Copenhagen trying to locate world leaders, getting snubbed by China's premier and crashing a meeting where he had initially been kept out, President Obama heralded a last-minute, largely toothless UN global-warming summit deal that drew fast fire from all sides as a sham.

Almost no one was happy with the outcome of the two-week confab and even the president, who was slammed by liberals and Republicans alike, along with other world leaders, admitted that the pact doesn't legally commit any of the nations involved -- the point of the summit in the first place.

Obama may become known as "the man who killed Copenhagen," said Greenpeace US head Phil Radford, one of many activists to rap the president for the flimsy agreement with India, South Africa, Brazil and China, which thwarted the president throughout the conference.

Just like global warming, this “deal” is a fabrication by those who wish to decieve the world.

Friends of the Earth tore into the pact as well. "Climate negotiations in Copenhagen have yielded a sham agreement with no real requirements for any countries," the group said in a statement. "This is not a strong deal or a just one -- it isn't even a real one."

Despite the liberal outrage, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi boosted the president by saying he fostered the "critical" deal, which British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called a "a big step forward."

Actually I agree with Pelosi on this one, and I urge every conservative in America, and I urge the GOP, to agree with Pelosi on this one.

The "deal" does commit us to spending HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on a problem that doesn't exist.

So yes, the Democraps were successful in further pushing America into the hands of SOCIALIST MASTERS.

So let's agree with them on that. That their "climate deal" is a big success for SOCIALISM.

And let's hold them accountable for their SUCCESS in November.

PUSHY PREZ: President Obama, stood up earlier by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, is forced to push his way into talks yesterday. “Mr. Premier, are you ready to see me? Are you ready?” he asks.

Good Lord that is pathetic.

That's the money the US needs to borrow from China. Good luck with that one.

The Chinese forced Obama to settle for a press release rather than a binding deal. Copenhagen is a failure and isn't going to make it easier for the Democrats to pass binding legislation next year. If we give up jobs and business, the Chinese and Indians will create them. All cap n trade would lead to is to a transfer of wealth and jobs from the US to the Third World.

“The “deal” does commit us to spending HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on a problem that doesn’t exist.”

How so? Does 0 carry around a checkbook that draws directly on the US Treasury?

Congress will have to approve any expenditures, and with the latest polls showing only 34% of the US public think humans have an effect on the climate, I doubt anything will pass.

Even if something were passed, it could be undone after the 2010 midterms - there is no binding treaty which would be stickier.

If you're in the Third World, you see people in rich countries, tell you sorry, keeping polars bears happy takes precedence over people wanting to have leave a better life for their children in your country. The values behind the West's love of the abstract is an anti-human to the core. Environmentalism doesn't care about the impact of its policies on human beings. Like Nazism, its based on a hatred of mankind.

Again, where will we borrow the money from to fix a non-existent problem? I see no evidence of climate change or that its going to drastically effect lives of our grandchildren. What I do see is a concerted effort by radical environmentalists to reduce us all to a subsistence level of living so they can feel better about themselves.

...Obama decided he wanted to go, and was forced to barge into the meeting...the exasperated Obama inquired loudly from the conference-room door, in front of the press and other world leaders who had already gathered...They're all having a meeting...There wasn't even a seat for Obama...There aren't any seats...He later tried to put a positive spin on the meeting...

This guy is the perfect stooge.

I realize that. But what I'm saying is Obama-and-the-Democrats willingly AGREED to spend hundreds of billions on a problem that doesn't exist. For us, in November 2010, it only matters that they AGREED to do it, not whether or not they can actually do it.

My point isn't about what actually happened in Copenhagen (of course it was a big Socialist Group Grope and nothing more), it's what the DEMOCRATS THEMSELVES CLAIM HAPPENED. Let's take them at their word. That the whole enterprise was "successful", that they "successfully" committed the United States to spending hundreds of billions on a problem that doesn't exist.

And let's USE that "success" against them in November.

That's all I'm saying.

Yes, they are desperate - and so was Obambi.

A Farce of a deal from a Farce of a “President”.

Just as with healthscam.

Doesn’t matter what is “achieved” as long as Zero gets “credit” for getting “a deal” done.

That is all that matters. The One will be hailed as the masterful world “leader” who pulled a last minute agreement out of what appeared to be an impossibly deadlocked global warming world summit meeting.

I am just grateful it wasn’t worse - and that all the evil gathered in that one place seemed to be in a state of massive chaos and confusion....along with the global freezing and snowstorms going on there and back in DC.....having Gibbs and reporters blocked out of a meeting and some shivering in the cold....Zero barging his way into a meeting to which he was not invited....being snubbed by the Chinese premier.....

Well, there was a lot to like about Dopenhagen’s “summit” after all.

Sure they are - and extremely disappointed.

The so-called “poor countries” expected an early Christmas in Copenhagen with fat bundles of cash for each of them arrayed under a green tree, with Obama playing a skinny Santa.

They ended up with an ugly necktie and they’re p.o.’d.

Obama in Copenhagen frantically tries to locate world leaders, gets snubbed by China’s premier, and crashes a meeting that locked him out.

Later he praised the climate summit, makes bid for the Brooklyn Bridge, and texts Rahm to find out how his Madoff investment is doing.
