Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) says that Republicans will "probably not" be able to stop the passage of health care this week, but that his party will continue to "win the battle of American public opinion."
"Well fight the good fight, we will fight until the last vote," he said on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. "We must look back and say that we did everything we could to prevent this terrible mistake from taking place."

It is true that the GOP can’t stop this train. On the other hand, if guys like McCain had not turned us into a minority party, this would not be happening.
"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008
"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004
He could try to keep his buddy Lieberman from returning to Washington to vote.
Hey, whatever it takes to spare yourself the pain of sitting alone in the Senate mess hall.
The GOP could be working to convince the few changeable dems that what they are doing will wreck the country. There has to be at least one. I’m a bit proud that the GOP is stay tough but they need to be educating the opposition about the evil of their ways.
Ditto here. Lets get the ball rolling before I get too old to take part.
“”We must look back and say that we did everything we could to prevent this terrible mistake from taking place.””
Why MUST WE LOOK BACK? Why wasn’t he looking FORWARD? I guess he’s consoling himself that we’ve lost the battle and will move on to something else. Glad he can do that as we won’t be able to. Why not stand and fight, John?
“He said there would be a change in climate in Washington, theres been a change,” said McCain. “Its more partisan, its more bitterly divided than its ever been.”
How is that reach-across-the-aisle-my-friend BS working for you, McCain? You your spineless RINO buddies created that climate, and continue to do so.
And we are going to do everything it takes to prevent you and your ilk do not EVER get re-elected again.
A pox on the entire Congress!
I agree that McCain has been less than desirable at the very least on a number of issues, but he’s been right on the Health care issue. Unfortunately a lot of people who dislike McCain totally misunderstood, or intentionally distorted, his position of health care last year.
The electorate turned us into a minority party. It wasn't McCain who cast those votes at the voting booth. The electorate either chose to pull the wool over its own eyes, or decided the Democrats were going to give them something for nothing (extracted from the "rich"). ll the conservatives who stayed away or voted for anyone other than the GOP candidate in 2008 deserve a big round of applause - we have them to thank (in addition to Democratic voters, of course) for all of the wonderful Democratic legislation we are about to see enacted into law.
That's really rich coming from a man who did his best to convince the Nation that candidate Obama was a "good and decent family man".

Be a Churchill, not a Chamberlain.
I hope there is a revolution. But people are too busy watching football and caring who is in American Idol to care.
