ISRAEL has admitted that in the 1990s, its forensic pathologists harvested organs from dead bodies, including Palestinians, without their families' permission.
The issue emerged with publication of an interview with the then-head of Israel's Abu Kabir forensic institute, Jehuda Hiss. The interview was conducted in 2000 by an American academic, who released it because of a huge controversy last summer over an allegation by a Swedish newspaper that Israel was killing Palestinians to harvest their organs. Israel hotly denied the charge.
Parts of the interview were broadcast on Israel's Channel 2 TV over the weekend. In it, Hiss said: "We started to harvest corneas ... Whatever was done was highly informal. No permission was asked from the family."
The Channel 2 report said in the 1990s, forensic specialists at Abu Kabir harvested skin, corneas, heart valves and bones from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians and foreign workers, often without permission from relatives.

Maybe monetary compensation would be paid exclusively to the families of the Israeli corpses following the reveal of the damning report on Israeli Channel 2 TV.

1) It's not 'Blood Libel'. (I looked up the definition to make sure)
2) It's not a Canard.

The fact is, the Israelis have some explaining to do.
Plus some Jewish Rabbi(s) in NJ who were into Organ Harvesting for a huge profit (Kidney bought for 10K, sold for $100K). There's a thread on that too.
The story is over ten years old and is exaggerated now, even though the administrator was fired long ago for allowing doctors to harvest corneas. The propaganda was instigated by “Nancy Sheppard-Hughes, a professor of anthropology at the University of California-Berkeley” shortly after the Swedish repetition of the Blood Libel Canard.
Some people seem to never tire of rehashing such projections.
Ten years old and some like you still try to say it did not happen, has the people involved been tried and put in jail. No!!! Will they ever be? NO!!!
Well, it is a blood libel if the story is false or exaggerated for the purpose of causing hatred towards Israel or Jewish people. To the extent that the story is told to link it with false allegations that Israelis were killing Palestinians for their organs, it is libelously misleading because it is presented as a kind of confirmation that there is legitimacy to the allegations.
You will note very important moral distinctions:
1) Israel did not kill anyone for their organs;
2) Israel was engaged in the practice on Jews and Arabs; ergo, it was not a racist or religion based form of atrocity;
The story of the “Rabbi” in New Jersey was not an “organ harvesting” story at all: the man approached people who desperately needed money and who were willing to sell their own organs via live transplantation. The conduct is illegal and fraught with moral implications, but again, a world apart from “organ harvesting” which implies the ghoulish practices of killing people for their organs or robbing the dead to profit from their organs. As far as profit goes, the profit of 100K is very suspect as the details of the story indicate that the money paid by the recipients above the 10K paid to the donor was mostly for testing, transportation, recovery costs and other aftercare for the donor, etc. Testing would have to be done for a lot of potential donors to find a match. I’m not saying that the person did not receive any remuneration but the notion that the “Rabbi” was making obscene profits is wrong. In this sense, the way that story is told is also libelous. The practice of organ donation for money is wrong, but it is not “organ harvesting”.
PS. I’m not saying what they did was a good thing. Hardly. It’s disgusting.
How many times has this been posted in the last week? Tis the season to blood libel.
Organ theft is committed in several Asian and European countries (including areas from Italy through the Balkans), but that’s not published or repeated nearly as much as the flood of accusations against Israel from Islamists, communists and Nazis around the world.

It would be real easy for them to take whatever they wanted out during that, and no one would be the wiser. I have often thought of requiring a 2nd private autopsy after the official one to determine that all my parts are still there and to leave instructions to sue the hospital/government for millions if they take anything, with the proceeds to go to my descendants.

Tis the season to hate Jews during the celebration of the Maccabean(sp?) revolt, and Jesus' birth ( a Jew for crying out loud!) are celebrated...of course it's also the season of the pagan Babylonian( ad nauseam)winter solstice.
This is appalling, but still a far cry from the original accusation.
Repeatedly disproved. Ban the spam.
