"I personally do not believe the Congress has the authority to enact an individual mandate requiring a person to purchase a product from a private seller," said Kent Masterson Brown, lead counsel with The Fund for Personal Liberty. "I don't think the power is there. This is not regulating anything."

Looks like a back door way to force in the public option.

Somehow I suspect that that is why this bill was proposed.

There is nothing more the democrats love more is creating even more work to one of their biggest campaign contributors-—the ABA.

The Equal Protection Clause should be enough to kill the Bill in Court. There are so many illegalities in this Bill as written. That you cannot begin to count them all.The Bribes being made to pass the Bill should be illegal. The Commerce Clause has nothing to do with telling Citizens, that they MUST purchase something. It’s hard to imagine with Congress consisting mostly of Lawyers that they can find this Bill anywhere near Constitutional ? Elections truly do have consequences.

I hope one of the Supremes asks, “If federal law can mandate an individual to purchase healthcare from a private company, and mandate the price and features of the product sold by that company, then is there ANYTHING at all that is outside the scope of federal power?”
