Republican candidates now have an eight-point lead over Democrats, their biggest lead of the year, in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.
The new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% would vote for their districts Republican congressional candidate while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Support for GOP candidates held steady over the past week, but support for Democrats slipped by a point.
Perhaps this helps to explain why Parker Griffith, a freshman congressman from northern Alabama, is expected to announce today that he is switching parties. Elected as a Democrat, he is switching to the GOP because of unhappiness with national Democratic policies. Several other Democratic congressmen in swing districts have announced that they will not seek reelection next year.
Men prefer GOP candidates by 19 points over Democrats, while women are evenly divided between the two. Among voters not affiliated with either party, Republicans lead by a 43% to 19% margin.
Republicans have held the lead on the ballot for over four months now. But since early November their lead has steadily increased. Democrats currently have majority control of both the House and Senate.

Sigh.
Even after decades of women’s “liberation”, an astonishing number of American women still seem to favor what the Democrats have tricked them into believing is a “nurturing” government....
Bob McDonnell (R) and Chris Christie (R) each won a majority of the womens’ vote in VA and NJ last month.
Next on Congress’ agenda: a law against anyone voting them out....
Rooster Cogburn to the young Indian Scout: “God help us if we ever give ‘em the vote”.
Women being evenly divided is an improvement.
And women will defect from the dums when they grow sick of having their unemployed husband sitting on the coach waiting for all the “caring” to arrive. Deep down she’ll find that rock don’t you know.
Outlaw women voting.
Problem solved.
Dems would never win an election again.
many are single. Obama is their ‘husband.’
I don’t get the women thing. I’m a gal, and I have 3 daughters, we’re all strong conservatives. It must be a city/welfare thing and “the having babies for more welfare bennies mentality”. It’s a shame the dems have suppressed the value of the city folks to this status. It’s also a real shame the first half-black president is this bad and will carry that reputation into the future. He’s not ‘leading’ his people, he’s trying to enslave all of us.
I don’t think outlawing women is the answer, a civics test and some sort of property ownership should be required.
Better yet, outlaw single woman voting.
That’s our problem.
“Next on Congress’agenda: a law against voting them out...”
Nah. They would never do that. They don’t have to. They have thugs with clubs at polling places, ACORN organizations, big unions, rabid liberals, and Alinsky lovers.
They really don’t have to be honest and they never will; all they have to do is continue to be as psychotic as they are. Everything else will take care of itself.
IMHO
Same would happen if you outlawed blacks voting. Perhaps now you see what’s offensive in your suggestion? We are individuals in America, to be treated as such.
Though I do understand your frustration, it is only one in ten women who vote differently, as a group, than their male counterparts.
Ann Coulter: If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president.
It could be a welfare thing, or it could something else. When the Menendez boys were tried for murdering their parents the first jury of 6 women and 6 men split evenly, with women wanting acquittal and men wanting conviction. I can only think that the sweet innocent faces of those boys swayed the women, but the men knew better.
There were women writing to the boys wanting to be their lovers, and this is common with a lot of violent felons including Ted Bundy. He had many female wannabe lovers even though he murdered women and they knew it. I don’t know if the reverse is true though, men wanting to be the lovers of criminal women in prison.
Finally, I suspect most of the republicans who still support Mitt Romney are women.
I think I see a pattern.
It’s really a single woman thing. It is very hard for a woman to be single and have kids without govt assistance. If she works, she needs daycare. If she doesn’t work in order to be with the kids, she needs welfare. And single women who can’t afford kids, even with govt aid, want abortions.
It is very hard for a woman to be single and have kids without govt assistance””
Women need to be more careful picking a partner.
Either don’t get married unless you are really sure-—or keep your legs together until you are married.
I have no patience with women who want to have kids without any male present for any length of time, thinking that welfare will take care of them.
I am female, and I am sick of it all.
