Osama bin Laden’s missing family found in secret compound in Iran
Times Online (U.K.) ^ | December 23, 2009 | David Brown

Osama bin Laden’s closest relatives are living in a secret compound in Iran, members of the family said last night. They include a wife and children who disappeared from his Afghan camp at the time of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

There has been uncertainty about the family’s whereabouts for the past eight years, with reports that some of the children had been killed in bombings, while others had joined their father in planning terrorist attacks. However, relatives said that they found out last month that the group, including one of Osama’s wives, six of his children and 11 of his grandchildren, had been kept in a high-security compound outside Tehran.

They have been prevented from contacting the outside world while Iran has repeatedly denied that any of the relatives were living in the country.

Members of the bin Laden family are now appealing for the group to be allowed to leave Iran and described them as the “forgotten victims of 9/11”.

Omar Ossama bin Laden, 29, the al-Qaeda leader’s fourth-eldest son, said he had no idea that his brothers and sisters were still alive until they called him in November. They told him how they had fled Afghanistan just before the 9/11 attacks and walked to the Iranian border. They were taken to a walled compound outside Tehran where guards said they were not allowed to leave “for their own safety”. The eldest of the children, Saad, was 20 at the time, Ossman 17, Muhammad 15, Fatma 14, Hamza 12, Iman 9, and Bakr, 7.

There had been speculation that Muhammad was second in command of al-Qaeda and that Saad also instigated and

The west is lying through its teeth. They have known all along that osama’s kin were in Iran. All Iranians have been talking about it openly. Its no secret over there!

“they had fled Afghanistan _just_before_ the 9/11 attacks”

Uhuh. So they knew and fled. They didn’t warn. That makes them guilty of accessory before the fact, or misprision. Lock ‘em up. Also the Iranians must have know, since they aided in hiding them.

How ‘secret’ is their location? ...do they know where the compound is? a JDAM or two should take care of business, one may even ‘stray’ and land on the Iranian presidential palace.

A few years ago, I said that Bin Laden was in Iran. Others here argued that Iran would not host him due to long standing Shiite-Sunni disagreements. I informed them that Sunnis and Shiites have cooperated when fighting against us, and that Iran had been sending support to the Taliban in Afghanistan (public news from the Iranian government years ago).

Most political people are terrified of oil prices going higher and don’t want to take any chance on a war with the mullahs. I posted hundreds of articles about Iran but stopped bothering with that a few years ago.

Are these the same Bin Laden’s who Iran admitted were there in 2002? Bill Gertz IIRC wrote about it then.

It’s quite simple really; Muslim fanatics can find a lot of common ground when it comes to killing Americans. They’re just like gang members who don’t snitch on each other to the police.

Actually, this was revealed in late 2001/early 2002, but the Bush Administration quickly shut it up since it held some delusions that the Iranians could be enlisted to help topple the Taliban and fight Al Qaeda. I remember the stories well, which went right down the memory hole overnight.

The rationale was that Iran DID back the Northern Alliance for a while against the Taliban, but it clearly was an alliance of convenience since Iran didn’t want Pakistan to become a larger player in the region. Iran could care less about the Northern Alliance and a stable Afghan government, and anyone that gets in their way is just seen as an obstacle.

Anyone who has followed with any interest at all knows that OBL's family, the family's of many AQ leaders thrive openly in the "Holy City of Qom" and several other locations in Iran.

It would seem to me that we should kill them where they live, whatever the country, and make their bloodline suffer the same inhumanity that they themselves suffer upon Jews and Christians.

Just my two cents, but if their families can openly exist and they have sworn death and destruction upon our society, lets began the charity where it belongs - at home... for this movement and its bloodline. Cut the ties and pretty soon all is left is the head of the snake itself. Visit death and destruction upon family and country and it ends. Leave living their offspring and it will raise its ugly the next generation.

“A few years ago, I said that Bin Laden was in Iran.”

You clearly may be right, and if so, it makes the concept of Iranian nukes even more scary..

“walked to the Iranian border”

This is really big news. It's very possible that Iran allowed Osama in the country too but while protecting his family allowed him to go to the Kurdish region of Iran to make a deal with them.
