I believed it was “publicly” announced maybe a year or two ago that it was indeed created, sustained and stored.

Anti-matter is a reality? Yes it is. At projected production rates, CERN should be able to produce 1 gram of anti-hydrogen every 2 billion years...so don't expect to see it on sale at 7-11 anytime soon.
