Leah Ward's American flag stood at the end of her driveway in Colebook, a tribute to her husband, a Marine serving in Iraq.
This week, someone burned it, the second act of vandalism involving the flag since June. Ward said it's a painful reminder that not everyone supports the troops. She's offering a $650 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible.
Ward, of 113A Beech Hill Road, woke up Monday morning to find the flag at the end of her driveway destroyed by fire. All that remained was a smoldering wooden flagpole and a secondary flag, a charred plastic “Marines” banner.
“I couldn't believe it,” Ward said. “Everytime I looked at that flag, I thought of my husband (Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Ward). Right now, I struggle to look at it

My bet is the losers who have been infesting Torrington, all the new welfare parents and loser immigrants
their crime rate skyrocketed in the last 5 years
and out Tea Party was crashed by a bunch of kids who the cops told us were all previously arrested at one point or another before! The cops were on our side.

The Torrington Police are pretty good people.
I have a friend who is on the force and is an former Marine, they don't like these gangsters/dealers infiltrating their city.

I put out a call to other Marine Web Sites. At the least, she needs new flags. Can Do!
Now, we need flagpoles. We need to find a place that will donate a metal one.

No, the same thing needs to happen to them that happened in the picture of the protestor burning the American Flag that has been posted on FR so many times. He caught himself on fire.

Desecration of the American flag is a Class A misdemeanor in Connecticut, the most serious of charges before a crime becomes a felony, state police Lt. J. Paul Vance said Thursday. It’s punishable by up to one year in jail or a fine of up to $2,000.

This is what I have, and many of my neighbors. I have had it the last five years, a present from my kids. You need a couple of bags of concrete mix, all aluminum .
Hey Thanks.......I am sending her the paperwork that goes with it showing it flew over our capital etc .....hope it makes her know she has like minded folks that support her Marine, Her and her family !

Dunno....been between 65 and 37 last week.......zero week before that.......supposed to be in high to mid 50’s all next week.......so we should be in 12ft drifts by Tuesday AM with the weatherguessers we have here in Jackass Flats !!
