“This isn't the Democratic party of our fathers and grandfathers. This is the party of Woodstock hippies.”

Exactly right. My Father, and his father, and his father before him were all Democrats. Conservative Democrats in the fashion of Zell Miller, but Democrats just the same, who would vote no other way but Democrat. Thankfully this guy on the radio my Dad started listening broke through and convinced my Dad that his party is not the he once knew. That it move so far to the left that it is not recognizable to him anymore. That radio host? Rush Limbaugh. Before my Dad passed away he was a fully converted Republican, and was able to cast his first Republican vote for George H. W. Bush

When I registered to vote in 1975 I was the only Republican in the whole parish (county). The clerk at the courthouse laughed at me. Now the area(s) at and near where I reside consistently vote Republican.

Message is how the polical dynamics can change rapidly. I predict that soon socialism will be vilified beyond reproach.
