Martha Says You’re Not Smart Enough To Understand Health Care
96.9 Boston Talks/Fox 25 Boston ^ | 1/18/2009 | Michael Graham

Posted on 01/18/2010 6:30:52 AM PST by Dayvester

This is a fascinating interview of Martha Coakley this morning on a local TV station, focusing mostly on health care. Note how Martha Coakley dismisses the concerns that voters have about health care by claiming the voters are too “unfocused,” don’t really understand this issues involved, etc.

In particular, watch her adamant response to the question about the fact that 61 percent of voters in the Suffolk poll don’t think we can afford government-run health care. “Are they wrong?” the interviewer asks.

“They ARE wrong,” Coakley practically shouts...

She then suggests the issue is too “complicated” for the voters to grasp.

And who made these health care bills complicated? What % have Republicans written?

Hopefully, this is a double-edged sword for Coakley as Massachusetts voters will see how utterly stupid she is and vote her out in 2011. Any Republican AG candidates out there....

What is REALLY scary is that she is MA’s Attorney General. She said she created jobs for MA. She is Attorney General. She can NOT create jobs.

Oh I dunno, just think of all the bureaucratic jobs she created to produce and maintain her mind-numbingly idiotic APPROVED FIREARMS ROSTER, which tells us simple serfs which specific handguns are "safe enough" for gun dealers to be allowed to sell in this state.

Yep, that's really how it is in this state: if the gun isn't on that list, dealers are not allowed to sell them here. Yep, Marcia really is this stupid.

Despite the humiliating loss of Kennedy senatorial patrimony, notwithstanding the squandering of party assets in money and morale, overlooking the damage to politicians who personally supported Macia ... er ... Martha, the Democrat party may console itself the damage will not be as great as it could have been had this been more than a one office race. There were no “bottom of the ticket” races directly exposed to the Coakley train wreck, after all.

I doubt the snide, arrogant, and out of touch liberal attitude will change much, despite this warning to get ones act together. I think that is true of both the DNC and to both the RNC and Senate Republican Campaign Finance Committee which, to my knowledge, did not offer or provide any funds to Scott Brown's campaign.

Tomorrow may not be the end .... or the beginning of the end .... but I think it is the end of the beginning, particularly if the right people either wise up or get out of the way!

Good point. Usually the celebs get up and warm up the crowd, and then the candidate gets up. But I guess it doesn’t matter, but the crowd was snoozing when she spoke.

What I’ve seen, it’s clear she’s a vile unscrupulous person. Let there be no doubt, she’s the kind of AG who based on your political persuason would go after you.

This was definitely meant to be.

Yes, there is a God...

I really wish someone would ask her why would anyone in Massachusetts want to pay higher taxes for the rest of the country being Massachusetts already insures 98% of their citizens at a substantial cost?

They seem to believe it’s a moral argument, moral as in social justice. Food, housing, education and health care provided as human rights over property rights and freedom (classic Marx).

And initially (a year ago) polling showed that in the abstract that the public agreed with Obama and democrats on health reform(especially his promises). But once the details of how this must work came out, especially to get it passed, it turned to poison. Add the bad economy, the failed stimulus and the deficit and you got a political disaster.

Liberals really believe the moral/social justice argument, and believe the government can ‘control costs’ by providing free services, with no profits. And they trust the federal government to make these decisions for everyone. They always seem to think that Obama will be in power forever. I always tell them that when Sarah Palin gets elected she will put Dick Cheney in charge of the death panels and he doesnt like liberals (just joking here, lighten up!)

Many big government conservatives (I call the TARP conservatives) seemed to believe Bush would be in power forever too.

"Should the resistance turn violent, the elite resort to greater violence"

Bet they won't. When John F.Kerry sees the angry and well armed mob coming up Beacon Hill for him, he will bolt like a rabbit.

Remember the aphorism attributed to Dr. Johnson. "The prospect of an immediate hanging concentrates the miond wonderfully." not exact but there you are.

"When Ted Kennedy died Massachusetts officials could have held the special election immediately. If they had held it then Martha would have won, hands down. Instead they changed the law (yet again)and appointed an old Kennedy hack so he could hold the seat and vote for ObamaCare"

To be factual, they are abiding by the special election timeline the law states (which is good, because it gives people a chance to get to know the candidates a bit - and the more people see of Martha, the less they realize they like her). Mass DID NOT change the law again (the very law they made to keep a then potential national Senate appointment from a Repub Gov...what actually happened is the Dem Gov overrode that now suddenly inconvenient law to put said interim hack in for the healthcare vote.

In a nutshell, the left thought healthcare would be “free”.
When it became obvious that they would have to pay for it, they started to oppose it.

Those who still support it are probably still ignorant of the requirement to pay for the insurance.
