TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The East Texas church arson investigation continues as federal, state and local law enforcement establish a command center in Tyler, sharing information that could lead to an arrest of the person or persons suspected of lighting six churches on fire.
Investigators say that they won't stop the search until the suspects are caught.
"It is our community," said Chief Neal Franklin, with the Tyler Fire Department. "We care deeply about this."
"We go to churches here," said Clay Alexander, an ATF agent. "We have friends that go to churches here."
"We're very serious about catching any perpetrator on this," said Franklin.

Did a brief search and didn’t see this posted.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it was probably pie-eyed, mouth-breathing proselytes of the pedophile polygamist pirate MoHAMhead.
which churches??
OK, I found it.
First I thought it said Terrel..
OK. I will try to keep this thread updated.
Of interest?
YES, very interesting.
Thank you Happinesswithoutpeace.
Well, I surely hope that the congregations of the churches are standing night-guard until these miscreants are caught.
I agree.
The churches also need to share with each other as well as authorities any threats they may have received prior to the arsons.
The sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Temple was destroyed by fire earlier this week. It is still being investigated.
Temple is in Central Texas some distance from the East Texas fires.
I personally think that this is not arson. The church is old and has had a lot of electrical modifications.
Thank you for the input :)
We are!! I live near Tyler...my church is in Tyler...these
churches that have burned(some) are on petty major streets..so thankful no ones been hurt yet.The bigger churches are beefing up security while the smaller ones are taking care of it w/ the congregation...pray they get caught soon and no one gets hurt..
I meant to say PRETTY major streets
If these are arson and the arsonist are caught they are going to spend some serious prison time if convicted. In Texas arson of a church/religious facility is a first degree felony with sentences ranging from 5 - 99 yrs and even up to life.
They have just caught one in Lumberton, Tx that set a church on fire trying to cover up his burglary. He was 19 years old.

I’m glad to hear that the people are keeping watch. Prayers for all the congregations that have lost their church homes. We can expect to see more and more of this I’m afraid. My little church had graffiti sprayed all over the front door. Haven’t caught the perp yet. I think it was related to a girl who broke into the church a couple of years ago and was ordered to apologize to the church in front of the congregation. She was on drugs and claimed to be off them at the time, but went back to them recently. So....
