This week marks the one year anniversary of Susan Rices confirmation by the United States Senate to represent the American people at the United Nations. Over the past 12 months, the U.S. has faced some serious foreign policy challenges such as Irans nuclear ambitions, North Koreas ongoing nuclear weapons tests, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, freezing terrorists assets world-wide and now the on-going disaster in Haiti. But while the UN struggles to find common ground on these and other important issues, Susan Rice has chosen to spend several days of the work week over the last year in Washington, DC hanging out at the White House and not engaging seriously in New York at the UN.
She’ doing what all UN employees do: nothing but looking official, while waiting for a paycheck.
Who?
Never heard of her.
And married to a Canadian. Hmmmm
Please, give me Mr. Bolton, the best UN Secretary of my life time. When are they moving to Dubai?? :)
You’d think the press would be working hard to figure out ways of glorifying Susan Rice. A black woman at the UN. Double affirmative action.
There must not be much there to work with, because as far as I can tell, the press has never so much as mentioned her. Hillary, yes. Susan, no.
Didn’t the late “Uncle Ted” float the idea of Caroline Kennedy being appointed as U.N. Ambassador, long before she crashed and burned as a prospective N.Y. Senator? If I remember correctly there was supposed to be a quid pro quo for her endorsement of Obama over Mrs. Clinton.
“Where Has Susan Rice, our UN Ambassador, Been This Past Year?”
From what I’ve heard, she’s been at a lot of cocktail parties for diplomatic types. In other words, she’s been doing nothing but living it up UN style.
Actually, now that I think about it, that makes her the only member of the Obama Administration that hasn’t been screwing something up.
I think maybe Caroline was given a choice—ambassador or senator, and she chose senator. Obama’s handlers tried very hard to give it to her, but she was absolutely hopeless.
Now that Teddy Kennedy is dead and out of the picture, they have no reason to do her any more favors. Because it was never gratitude; it was “You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours.”
My my—surprise, surprise....
This is the woman who advised Bill Clinton not to use the term “genocide” when hundreds of thousands were being hacked to death in Rwanda- because he wasn't willing to do anything about it, and jawboning might hurt him in his bid for reelection.
It's worth her salary and perk pay to not have her mucking up our foreign policy, which is bad enough already.
Susan is also no fan of Hillary, I believe. And vice versa no doubt.
