Gates is just following orders from his boss.

I do not council war. But Iran cannot be permitted to develop (or buy) operational nuclear weapons. They must not be allowed to have nuclear tipped nuclear weapons.
What is the solution? Destroy them by any means. Don’t make an issue out of it, just do it. I assume that the capability still exists in the “West” to accomplish the mission.
