People are afraid to lose money and an unusual study released on Monday explains why -- the brain's fear center controls the response to a gamble.

The article did not say who paid for this useless study.

It sure wasn't the money of the researchers or authors, otherwise their amygdalas would've kicked in.

This is precisely the reason it is cheaper to use cash than even a debit card (which is not to say I don’t use a debit card ... just making the point).

No. It's more like we don't have it to lose.

Common sense tells you that it's stupid to pour money into something that has such a low probability of return.
