LAST weekend looks likely to have been a tipping point in the media debate on climate change in the English-speaking world.
The two daily papers in Britain which have campaigned most single-mindedly on the urgent need for action on man-made global warming have begun to change their tune.
The Independent's environment editor, Michael McCarthy, filed a piece under the head "Professor in leaked email scandal tried to hide fact that numbers he used were wrong". Previously The Independent has been underwhelmed by revelations arising out of Climategate, the hacking of computer files from the University of East Anglia's climate research unit.
But the evidence of suppressing data and trying to sideline freedom of information requests has called into question research findings which are fundamental to modern climatology.

I was watching FoxNews today and they were quoting a group that said this record-setting east coast blizzard was more evidence of the screwed up weather global warming was causing.
There should be a psych ward available for folks who can’t deal with the reality that man is not causing global warming, and that weather is cyclical.
This has gone beyond a mental disorder into a devotion to political correctness, that is leveled at the whole population. This must stop.

That is REALLY kool-aid gone wild.
But this article lends hope that at least some in the media are paying attention to reality.
Wonder if al gore is doing ok these days. ( As he watches his carbon offset company bite the dust as millions upon millions of dollars disappear into the ether.)
Anyone who still subscribes to ANY periodical that singlemindedly supported the Glow Bull Warming/climate change hoax needs a lobotomy . . . . . . they weren’t using their brain for anything useful, anyway!!

In 2007, the most comprehensive report to date on global warming, issued by the respected United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, made a shocking claim: The Himalayan glaciers could melt away as soon as 2035.
These glaciers provide the headwaters for Asia's nine largest rivers and lifelines for the more than one billion people who live downstream. Melting ice and snow would create mass flooding, followed by mass drought. The glacier story was reported around the world. Last December, a spokesman for the World Wildlife Fund, an environmental pressure group, warned, “The deal reached at Copenhagen will have huge ramifications for the lives of hundreds of millions of people who are already highly vulnerable due to widespread poverty.” To dramatize their country's plight, Nepal's top politicians strapped on oxygen tanks and held a cabinet meeting on Mount Everest.
But the claim was rubbish, and the world's top glaciologists knew it.
Growing amounts of ice in Antarctica and thriving polar bear populations in Canada cannot falsify the consensus.
According to Penn State's head climatologist Dr. Michael Mann, it has very little to do with scores of cities having record low temperatures.
According to State Univeristy of New York (Albany) climatologist Dr. Wei Chyung-Wang, it has nothing to do with urban heat islands.
And on the authority of the University of East Anglia's Dr. Keith Briffa, it's doubtful that it has anything to do with the tree ring record, un-cherry-picked and taken as whole.
In fact, the truth about Global Warming is so very, very subtle, that it many not have anything to do with anything at all.

That cartoon basically shows you what it looks like outside my living room bay windows. I live across the street from wide open fields. We are getting blasted in my area of Philly. Horizontal snow. Drifting. Taint going to work tomorrow that is for sure. Dig out time will be the days operation.
