CA: Buckhorn Grill bans weapons after Open Carry event

A California restaurant chain, the Buckhorn Grill, has banned the display of guns in its establishments after a gathering of gun rights advocates Feb. 6 at its Walnut Creek restaurant that drew about 100 men carrying unloaded guns.

"Buckhorn Grill would like to apologize for some misunderstanding about our 'no weapon policy' in any of our restaurants," John Pickerel, owner of Buckhorn chain, said in a statement. "We have not in the past nor shall in the future allow weapons in our restaurants."

The ban applies to all seven of the chain's restaurants.

The meeting of Open Carry advocates, who want to change California law to make it easier to carry loaded guns in public, was an exception Pickerel said he now regrets. Pickerel said the group "misled" Buckhorn about such things as the nature of the event and number of attendees.

Ha! That one is right in the middle of a downtown shopping area, so they must have freaked out all sort of angry, Volvo-driving liberals on the way to and from the parking garage as well. :)

Their steaks better be really tender, I usually cut steaks with a knife but with no weapons allowed I guess it'll be Sporks all the way.

Unloaded weapons. What a bunch of pansies manage that restaurant. They are refunding the receipts from the event to show their displeasure, right?

Wonder if the cops eat there and leave their weapons in their cars?

Buckhorn Grill? I think that sounds a bit too cowboylike for metrosexuals to patronize.

I lived in Walnut Creek for nearly 10 years. Anger? I’m surprised mass hysteria followed by a stampede didn’t break out.

Nice place to live, but filled with hoity toity libs.

A buddy of mine had a run in with his neighbor over my buddy packing. My friend told the neighbor not to ask him for help if bad guys ever show up, because the neighbor is anti gun.

You mean the Volvo driving liberals who tie up entire cities with their "right to bike" (bicycles, not motorcyles) protests?

I guess what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

Best regards,
