A Massachusetts man is under arrest for the stash of guns police found in his possession.
Authorities took Gregory Girard, 45, into custody Wednesday afternoon on weapons charges after apparently finding dozens of guns inside his Manchester-by-the-Sea home.
A judge in Salem District Court ordered Girard held for evaluation.
The arsenal included close to 20 weapons, including rifles, two handguns, two bayonet knives, flare guns, six pairs of handcuffs, as well as a pair of both kevlar vests and helmets.
Tear gas and pepper spray grenades were also allegedly discovered at Girards residence.
All the items were acquired by Girard within the last nine months, according to police.
He was convinced that martial law was imminent, said a prosecutor on Wednesday.

In this case he seems to have been correct.
Failure to Register ALL his guns. Remember, Massachusetts is the model state for the rest of the nation when it comes to gun control.
Subsonic .22s are great, Calibri makes some that
are just the primer and are VERY quiet. Used to
shoot down the hall in the mobile home I lived in
for a while, a 12” sq of sheet metal and a phone book
worked great for a back stop, neighbors never heard
a thing.
Absolutely! I’m thinking that when the wife filed the restraining order, she told them about his “arsenal.” That is probably what led to the search. In Texas, I’m not sure what he has would constitute an “arsenal”—but in MA, it’s a whole ‘nuther world up there.
No, it’s a small armory, but not an arsenal, in any way, shape, or form.
For what it’s worth, the guy does sound a little unstable...

DON’T marry a Liberal. PERIOD!!!;)

Believe it or not: LIBERAL Massachusetts requires a permit to own firearms and pepper spray or mace:
Firearms Identification (FID) Cards
The new FID card permits the purchase, possession and carrying of NON-LARGE CAPACITY RIFLES, SHOTGUNS and AMMUNITION ONLY. You must be at least 18 years old (or 15 - 17 years old with parental consent) to apply for an FID card. The fee for an FID card is $100.00 and it is valid for 6 years. New applicants must complete a Mass. approved firearms safety course or a BASIC HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE. A restricted FID card is available solely for the possession of mace or pepper spray. Applicants for the restricted FID are exempt from the education requirement.

My advice is if you are on your way to a hunting trip or have a firearm in your vehicle bypass Massachusetts.
lived there for 12 years. very tough regime. don’t really know cuz it was hard to figure even living there, how many ways there are to break the law regarding guns in Mass, but, there’s lots of them.
You need a permit to OWN, not carry, OWN, in your own house. On top of that, someone breaks in, 3am, armed, and you shoot them, you have to prove you couldn’t have escaped. Wild.
See my #20. GMTA.
Memo to self: Don’t ever move to a libtard ‘rat state.

Indeed!
It’s not even “close to 20” firearms...it’s weapons. They count handcuffs and flare guns as weapons? What about paintball guns? We’ve got a regular arsenal of those, what with a houseful of teenage boys and all. I wonder if AAA batteries count as weapons, because they do look sort of like bullets.
um... none of that is illegal... I don’t understand.
Touche’
Is any of that stuff illegal?
My psych instuctors in college were all first class fruitcakes. It must be a prerequisite!
