AP Coverage of Ala. Prof's Prior Killing Ignores Rep. Delahunt's Involvement in Her Release

UPDATE, 6:15 P.M.: An unbylined 11:57 a.m. AP report (i.e., 54 minutes after the time stamp of the original post at BizzyBlog) contains two paragraphs about Delahunt's involvement. Based on a search on Delahunt's last name at about 6:15 p.m., this version of AP's report is either still not at its main site, or has not been indexed by its search engine.

Democratic Congressman Bill Delahunt's far from minor role in the 1986 release of Amy Bishop, the University of Alabama in Hunstville biology professor implicated in the murder of three colleagues on Friday, has garnered significant press attention in the past 24 hours or so. Some reports have noted Delahunt's party affiliation; others, mostly but not entirely out of New England, where Delahunt's party affiliation may be common knowledge, have not.

But in two stories time-stamped early this morning -- a 12:02 a.m. 300-word item by Jay Lindsay and a 6:43 a.m. comprehensive 1000-word report co-written by Lindsay and Desiree Hunter (saved here and here, respectively, for future reference, fair use and discussion purposes) -- the Associated Press failed to even note Delahunt's involvement.

If you examine this whole story....several issues exist. First, the Mom of Amy Bishop was on the board who hired for the police department and apparently promoted. Favors on her part helped various players at different levels. If someone had a nephew who needed a step on the hiring situation...if you paid up or did something for the local DA...you probably got a point or two with the hiring board.

Second, to have the records disappear? Someone did another favor for Amy by making this happen.

Third, and just something to wonder about since we know about the pipe bomb episode with her professor in college...are there any episodes prior to her brother’s shooting which lead back to her? I’m already betting on it.

She’s psychotic. She’s been that way her entire life. How her husband sat there and played out this relationship with her is the strange part. And imagine yourself as one of her kids. You can’t ever trust her for a moment, from this day on.

So, she's got an excuse. Not so her mother and the civil servants and pols who are complicit is this, another chapter of wickedness from the Parlor of Hell.

Further, she was a suspect in the mailed bomb of a Harvard professor with whom she was battling with regard to her review.

No charges were filed in that case but this woman has been a walking time bomb from the time Delahunt set her free.

Bill Delahunt's Wikipedia biography already discusses Amy Bishop. It also mentions his exchange with Mr. Addington in 2008 where he was pleased that al-Qaeda would now know what Addington looked like.

Even worse than the average Democrat.

“......walking time bomb from the time Delahunt set....”

Time to dump the whole Mass delegation...they have been setting off time bombs around the globe for decades.

I hope all the Rep candidates running do a “Contract for Massachusetts”

When Delahunt was in the legislature, he also got a convicted murderer out of jail and neglected to notify the family that the guy was on the loose and seeking revenge (another person was killed as a result).

Bad judgement all around. Actually, make that “socialist” judgement, because “bad” and “socialist” are one and the same.
