This guy is the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, not some renegade, obscure military figure. He is the Russian equivalent of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
When Anutjob first claimed America plans to attack, I thought the statement was meant simply to scare the Iranian people and now that this high placed Russian is repeating it, probably upon Anutjob's request, it seems even more likely the claim is meant to help bolster the domestic notion that this government is needed right now as Iran is facing imminent international threat.
I doubt anything has changed inside Zero's administration that would give Anutjob or the Ruskies any cause to think attack is imminent so the claim is nothing more than a reflection of internal insecurity.
