Rich Flee New Jersey, Snookie Remains

New Jersey’s leaders had a great idea for balancing the budget a few years back. Tap the state’s wealthy through hikes in income taxes, property taxes and even a “wealth tax”. So, how’s that working out? Not so well, reports the Newark Star-Ledger:

More than $70 billion in wealth left New Jersey between 2004 and 2008 as affluent residents moved elsewhere, according to a report released Wednesday that marks a swift reversal of fortune for a state once considered the nation’s wealthiest.

That’s pretty much what’s happening in every blue state in the nation, not to mention nearly all of New England, save NH perhaps.

Too bad many move to red states and start demanding the same liberal crap they had in their original blue states.

Many rich are fleeing blue states to avoid the taxman however a few of them are left wing liberals who once they settle in a low tax red state, attempt to re-create the ‘socialist paradise’ they just left.

Texas gets quite a few from California.

California transplants have destroyed my state of Oregon. It always had a kooky epi-center in Portland, but now it has spread throughout the Portland metro area.

Maybe some day they’ll buy a clue.....a tax increase is basically paying wealth to leave. Its that simple. You’d think people accustomed to governing and legislating would understand one of the very basic action-reaction consequences of their decision-making!!!

Ronald Reagan nailed it when he said, “whatever you tax more you get less of it”. The rich just pack it up and stimulate the moving companies heading out of town.
Economic morons? —thy name is Dem liberals!

Are the typical California self-deportees there “liberal” or conservative? See, my guess is that most folks fleeing California are NOT liberal, but I could be wrong.

Too bad many move to red states and start demanding the same liberal crap they had in their original blue states.

I have posted sentiments just like this.

Liberals created garbage dumps of Fairfax and Prince William Counties in Northern Virginia (all the while ridiculing us for moving into a rural county with good schools and low taxes) and then moved south after life there could not be sustained. This raised our property values, thus our taxes, and then started crying for all the garbage they had up north that ended up raising taxes even more and turning us into the same mess.

I am not ashamed to say: If you want a pool for your kids to swim, a baseball, football or soccer field then get together with like-minded families and pay for them yourselves.

The never-ending "want, want, want" of these liberals have made junk out of our previously quiet, and economically sound county.

New Jersey: Net loss of 19,285 households. Biggest losses went to Florida and Pennsylvania.

NJ's main selling point is it's not as bad as NY, and PA's is it's not as bad as NJ. NJ can't increase their taxes and regulations to NY's level without destroying the only thing keeping them afloat.
