"The Reconciliation Vote"

In another surprising step forward for the public option, Senator Harry Reid’s office says that if a final decision is made to pass health reform via reconciliation, the Majority Leader would support holding a reconciliation vote on the public option.
With more and more Senators signing on to the letter urging Reid to hold an up or down vote on the public option under reconciliation rules, Reid spokesman Rodell Mollineau sends over a statement signaling Reid’s qualified support for the move:
Senator Reid has always and continues to support the public option as a way to drive down costs and create competition. That is why he included the measure in his original health care proposal.
If a decision is made to use reconciliation to advance health care, Senator Reid will work with the White House, the House, and members of his caucus in an effort to craft a public option that can overcome procedural obstacles and secure enough votes.
That’s a fairly big step forward: Up until now, Reid, while supporting the public option throughout the process, had been silent on whether he’d support a reconciliation vote on it.

Quit talking about it and do it. That is if you’ve got the votes, which I suspect you don’t because you’re bluffing.
They are pushing us to get a reaction to declare martial law. That is their only hope now and they know it. I think that is why we’ve seen the Dem resignations/retirements that we have.

If he does he’s ended the careers of himself and a whole bunch of other democrats with this un-Constitutional piece of pigcrap legislation.

I don’t think so, if they wre doing it for that, they’d do it closer to the elections in order to suspend them as well.
They know better than that, I’d hope. If they declare martial law, we’ll declare it right back!.....

Oh I’d like to see that. You’d think the military and police will follow his orders? The military’s oath is to serve the Constitution, not this actor CIC.
There is too much at stake for the radical Dems.
This thing ASSURES Democrats of rule forever, because no Republican will ever be able to run on ending Insurance, or EVEN CUTTING BENEFITS, for the 30+ Million, illegals included, in this bill.
It’s the ROAD TO TOTALITARIANISM.
I read something the other day that the parliamentarian can object to provisions that don’t meet the normal criteria for “reconciliation” and the Republicans will be able to offer endless amendments. Hope that is true (but it may depend on who the parliamentarian is and whether he can be blackmailed).
