I hope so.
That is a great quote. I would love to get that bumper sticker and then drive around UW-Stout & UW-Eau Claire campuses in my bright red SUV and that bumper sticker plastered on the back & sides of my SUV.
Rat bastard 0bozo!!! I hope he goes down in flames. If not in this life, than in the next life when that bastard roasts for eternity in Hell & the Lake of Fire!
Actually, I’m surprised it’s taken them this long. It’s the obvious play, and a tribute to their own confusion if they can’t make it happen. If the roles were reversed and this was an important Republican bill with a Republican majority, you can bet your life it would have been passed through reconciliation already.
We don’t know what we want to do, but we know how to do something.
They know what they want to do, but they don’t know how to do anything.
I have read that "usually" it takes 67 votes to change a senate rule, but I'm not sure if that applies to reconciliation rules. e. g. to disallow amendments. Some say that the senate Dems don't really want to change the rules, because they don't want to lose their individual powers to become like members of the House.
Even if possible, using legislative tricks to pass a hugely unpopular bill would cause strife that would last for many years.
Public Option = Death Panels and complete loss of Freedom in America. It is simply common sense the govt is interested in numbers and control of those numbers.
Reduce size of Government NOW.... before we are all oppressed and enslaved...
That is what they are betting on.... Once enslaved the slave soon forgets what freedom felt like and relys soley on the Master.
The only way to stop The Rats is to Revolt..
I think that is a certainty. As for the amendments, I'd have to reread the relevant statutes again (2 U.S.C. § 644 and 2 U.S.C. § 641, if you'd like to read them for yourself), but I don't believe that the statues as they exist today allow for unlimited amendments. In fact, I believe it's quite the opposite.
Whatever the case, I still don't believe that the Parliamentarian, under the existing statutory limitations of Budget Reconciliation, is going to allow the sweeping changes necessary to enact most of the Dems health plan, irrespective of what that plan actually ends up being.
The “DEM REDS” Party shows all the hallmarks of a tyranny....complete disregard for the good of the Country and will of the People.
Rush L said it right when he said to see the future under Obama and the “Dems”, watch what Chavez has been doing.
Dictatorship here we come.
And a typical Socialist Economy, known in free nations as “Economic Depression” and grinding poverty, will be the future of the USSA.
>> is it not possible because we wont have the votes to stop it <<
The Big Ø would certainly veto any legislation the ‘Pubs might pass in 2011 or 2012 to repeal a Dhimmi-sponsored health takeover bill — if the latter should be enacted this year.
Moreover unless the ‘Pubs should gain 2/3 majorities in both Chambers thanks to the Nov. 2010 elections — something that’s impossible to imagine — the veto would stick.
More proof they’re bluffing and posturing: Harry said it’ll take 60 days do get it done. If they had the votes they’d do it now.
