I must be stupid but why is any entity of the federal government donating tax dollars to any candidate ever?
Well, don't forget that till last week or so, corporations were pretty much excluded from political contributions anyway, so those company names don't represent the donor but the donors' employers. So that's saying people listing their employer as the US Army contributed that much.
